Ashton ~ Swimming

I flopped back on the bed and sighed. This was not how I wanted to spend my Saturday. Tobi agreed as she put on her bathing suit. Our grandma had invited over kids of people she went to school with. I wasn't looking forward to it. They were usually much older than us and incredibly boring.

"I'm telling you, Toni, it's going to suck so bad." Tobi said, talking on the phone to her best friend. Of course I was her best friend, but not when Toni was around. I rolled my eyes and rolled over, grabbing a t-shirt to put on over my bathing suit. "I have no idea who they are! I don't even know their names."

"Come on downstairs girls," Our mother said poking her head into our bedroom, "They'll be here any second."

It was unlikely we would be downstairs anytime soon. I waved to her and she left the door open as she left. I pulled on some flip flops and put my hair up into a messy pile on the top of my head.

"I have to go," Tobi said, sounding miserable. I grabbed my beach towel as she hung up. "Wait you aren't going down yet are you?"

"I was-"

"No wait a while." She said grabbing my arm, "I'm not ready yet and if you go down first they'll think I'm waiting."

"You are." I said sighing as I put my towel back down and sat on my bed again. "God, Tobi I don't want to spend all day with these people!" I moaned and let my hands fall into my hands. It was completely unfair. Grandma was always inviting random people to our pool. This time it was an old classmate's cousin and her son, who was apparently close to my age. She made sure to tell me that part.

"I don't either! At least Grandma is trying to get you a date." She grumbled, "I never a date." I rolled my eyes and we were silent for a while. I was playing with my phone, waiting for Tobi to be ready while she bunched up her hair and then grabbed her own phone.

I started to ask her if she was ready yet, but we both froze when we heard an all too familiar laugh. See, Tobi and I were a big fan of this band. This band was 5sos, and we knew quite well Ashton Irwin's laugh when we heard it.

We looked at each other as it happened again.

"Where is that coming from?" I whispered, like I'd scare it away if I was too loud. I got up and Tobi and I peaked out of our bedroom.

"Downstairs." She whispered back. We both took off down all 16 steps, stumbling at the bottom for a moment. And there they were. 3 out of 4 members of 5 Seconds of Summer sitting in our living room. If I had known that the guy my grandmother was trying to set me up with was Luke Hemmings I probably wouldn't have rolled my eyes. I would have politely told her I was an Ash girl, but that wouldn't change that I'd take Luke if he wanted.

"Nice of you to join us." Our mother said rolling her eyes, "Girls, this is Liz, Grandma's friend's cousin."

"Hi." I managed to say quickly. Liz Hemmings was just about as amazing as Luke. Not to mention that our grandmother knew her cousin. How has it taken this long for this meeting to happen?

"Nice to meet you girls." She said, noticing how Tobi and I were staring at her and the boys.

"And this is her son, Luke." My mother said pulling me closer to him. She just didn't understand that I was about to pass out and pulling me closer to Luke Hemmings was not helpful. "And his friends, Michael and Ashton." I saw Tobi nod, but neither of us said anything.

"Are you going to tell us your names?" Ashton said. I looked at him and felt my cheeks getting warm. Ashton Irwin, the subject of my affections, was standing in front of me asking for my name.

"It's Aurora." I said, somehow finding my voice, "And that's Tobi." I gestured to my sister, who was staring at Michael like he was going to disappear if she didn't keep her eyes glued to him.
