Abigail's POV
-
We get done eating at Applebees and walk back to Ricky's car. We are getting ready to look at some apartments I guess, I'm just really happy to start living with Ricky.
"Have you looked at any apartments yourself?" I ask as I shut the car door.
"Yeah, actually, there's this one that I have in mind. I think you'll love it," he responds smiling down at me as he places his hand on my thigh.
"Is it close to where I work-" I begin to ask but then realize that I haven't called in for work today.
"Shit, I forgot to call in," I say pulling my phone out of my back pocket and dial the publishing company.
"This is Black Casket Publishing, how can I help you today?" Rebecca's voice chimes over the phone.
"Hey Becca, it's Abigail, I can't come into work today, I'm not feeling well."
"That's okay dear, I will tell Angelo. I'm sure he won't mind. Take as long as you need."
"Thanks Becca, I should see you Tuesday," I respond and we say our goodbyes before ending the call.
"Okay, to answer your question it's about a twenty minute drive to the publishing company and fifteen from school," he says and I nod my head. A few minutes later, we pull into the parking lot of a tall building that I would assume to be the apartment complex Ricky mentioned.
"Here it is," he says, rocking back and forth on his heels and shoving his hands in his pockets. He looks over to me before reaching down and grabbing my hand and we walk inside. We ride the elevator up to the forth floor and pass a couple of doors before we stop in front of one and Ricky pulls a key out of his back pocket. As soon as the door swings open, I am blown away. Beyond the door reveals a rather large living room, dark red paint covering the walls and a black leather sofa in the middle. A bookcase lines the wall and beside it, A big window looking out over the city. Dark brown hardwood floors line from the living room and down the hall. Over to the left, sets the kitchen. Light gray walls and a white island with a black counter top sits in the middle accompanied with three black stools. Behind it lay the white cabinets and a black backsplash behind the sink and carries on throughout the space. Stainless steel appliances are also placed in the kitchen.
"Wow," is all I have to say. Two rooms and I'm already pumped, I can't wait to see the rest.
We walk back out into the living room and to the small hall with four doors. The first one on the left leads to the bathroom, which also has light gray walls, back counter tops and black tile floor. Beyond the door straight across from it on the right, lay the master bedroom. Dark purple paint covers these walls and the same hardwood from the living room and kitchen trails the floor. A queen size bed sits up against the wall with a padded black headboard behind it. A black dresser and a mirror sit on the same wall as the door, and the wall straight across holds a window with a built in bench beneath it. The wall right of the door has another door, the walk in closet. The next two doors lead into a linen closet and I would suppose the guest bedroom.
I wonder how long it took Ricky to find this place. Like honestly, I have absolutely no idea how it could be any more perfect. But, there's gotta be a catch. I bet it cost a ton.
"This is, wow. Ricky I fucking love it!" I say and wrap my arms around him. He chuckles slightly as he lays his chin on my head.
"But," I say as I pull away from him, "how much a month?"
"Probably not as much as you're thinking, but I will cover it,"
"Uh uh, no way in hell am I gonna let you pay the rent by yourself. This will be our apartment. Fifty - fifty." I state and he shakes his head.
"Sixty - forty." He counters and I sigh.
"Fine, but don't try to work your way out of it," I respond and he smiles.
"Does that mean we'll get it?" He asks.
"I love it, but it's not just my decision here," I respond and I know he loves it just as much as I do.
"Honest to god, I don't think we'll ever find anything more perfect, but we can keep looking if you want?"
"I agree, I think this one is the one," I say and his face lights up.
"So this is the one huh?"
"Yup," I respond as I wrap my arms around his neck and stare up into his eyes. "I love it."
"I love you," he says and pecks me on the nose.
"I love you more," I say and he laughs.
"Not a chance."
We head down to the lobby and fill out a crap ton of paperwork before heading back out to the car.
"When do you want to move in?" He asks and I shrug.
"The sooner, the better," I respond and he agrees.
"Tonight it is then," he smiles.
"Just drop me off at the hotel, I need to get my car and officially move out of the dorms. You go ahead and get your shit and I'll meet you at the apartment." I tell him.
After dropping me off at the hotel, A few at a time, I bring my junk down and load it into the car. After about three or four trips, I'm done and jump in the car. I drive off to officially leave the dorms behind me.
I'm going to a good college, have a great job and now live in a fabulous apartment with my little cute raccoon of a boyfriend. I honestly haven't pictured my life this complete in a long time. All I can do is hope that it stays this way for as long as possible.
