Abigail's POV

-

Two weeks later

Things have been going smoothly for these past couple weeks. My job has been going well and I'm doing okay in my classes. Ricky and I's relationship is still working out perfectly and I couldn't be more happy.

The alarm sounds from my phone and I groan as I wiggle out of Ricky's grip to get ready for work. I take my shower, dry and curl my hair, apply light make up and slip into a tight black dress that comes just above my knees and has thick straps. I pull on plain black pumps. When I get done, I decide to not wake Ricky up and just let him sleep. I slip on a leather jacket, grab my purse, keys and phone, and head out the door.

I pull up to the tall building and step out of my car. I lock the doors and head inside.

"Hey Abigail," Rebecca chirps from behind her desk.

"Good morning Becca," I reply as I sip my cup of coffee. I head into my office, closing the door behind me. I plop down into the leather chair behind my desk and turn on my computer. As I'm waiting for it to start up, I spin around in my chair and look out of the window. I sit there thinking for about ten minutes, completely zoned out until someone knocks on the door and I quickly turn back around.

"Ms. Sola?" Mr. Parente calls from the other side of the door.

"Yes, please come in," I reply and the door swings open. He smiles widely at me and sits himself down in the chair in front of me.

"Ms. Sola-" he starts and I cut him off.

"Abigail," I say and he laughs and shakes his head.

"Right, we've had this conversation before," he smiles, "So, Abigail, I have been thinking, the company has decided to expand out to Miami, and a few of us are going down there next month. I was wondering if you would like to come as well?"

"Really, that's amazing! Are you sure you want me to come?" I ask. I have absolutely no idea why on earth he would want me to come along, but I sure as hell want to go.

"Positive. I would just be you, Rebecca, Mr. Dun, and myself. What do you think?" He pitches and I think for a moment before responding. Mr. Dun is one of my coworkers. I've only spoken to him a few times before, but he seems really nice. Josh, I believe is his name.

"On full pay of course," he adds and I nod.

"I would love to tag along," I smile and he returns one.

"Okay, we will be leaving exactly three weeks from today which will be on the third. Rebecca will discuss with you what time you need to be here and everything on that note," he says and rises up from the chair.

"Thank you Mr. Parente," I say and extend my hand out to his.

"Pleasure," he respond, shaking my hand. With that he exits the room and a few seconds later, as expected, Rebecca comes pounding at my door. I laugh to myself and respond with a 'come in'.

We talk for twenty minutes about the trip to Miami. We will be gone for two weeks, I think that is the longest time I have ever been away from Ricky. Plus, as soon as I get back, Christmas will be just around the corner. (I just realized how much I messed up the time in this book. I kinda skipped Halloween and Ricky's birthday... Whoops. Anywho, just pretend like its November right now. Kill me.)
