Conor's POV

What the hell was she talking about? I pulled the right handle towards me and the bike accelerated. I weaved in and out of the traffic without a care, adrenaline making me feel like life was worth living and I was in the highest point in my life. But one thing wouldn't escape my mind. Louise. What had she been talking about? Why was she so upset to see me and Kaiya together? Now she's asking me to drive home and ask anyone from school to tell her what me what I've missed? What have I missed? I pulled into the driveway and round the back of the house, stopping and parking it at the back of the house. I jumped off it and stood on the seat to help lift me onto the roof of the extension, then climbed up into my bedroom. Why? To make sure I wasn't seen by my family.

Clambering in as quietly as I could I removed my helmet and put it neatly on the shelf, my gloves going next to it. I removed my leathers and folded them, placing them next to the gloves and got changed into some grey jogging bottoms and a white t-shirt. I immediately sat at my laptop and wondered who I could contact. I don't want to talk to David, I don't want to talk to Ross but I certainly don't want to associate with Josh and Frank! This means I actually have to... talk?

Logging into Facebook, I notice the layout has changed... Again... I sigh heavily. I haven't logged into this for about two years! 17 friend requests? No thanks! I clicked in the search bar and typed in his name, as much as it pained me to do so. David Batista. Searching for a minute or so I finally found his profile and it asked me if I wanted to accept his friend request. Not now. I sent him a private message.

"David, it's Conor. Look, I need to talk to you about Louise. She said I missed something at school and she was really upset. I don't want to talk to you but I need to know what's going on..."

Within seconds I had a reply.

"Call me. 07955101122"

I was amazed at how quickly he replied. Was it so he could rub in my face how blind I've been about whatever I've missed or was it because I'd said about Louise being upset? I sighed and grabbed my phone, dialling the number.

"Conor?" He picked up almost straight away.

"Err. Yeah." I said, unsure of why I was even doing this.

"What's wrong with Louise?" He asked quickly. I knew he cared for her... It was obvious...

"I saw her on the way home from school after I'd dropped Kaiya home and-"

"You're with Kaiya?" He interrupted.

"Do you need to know my business?" I shouted. The other end of the phone went quiet. "Anyway, I called after her as she walked past me and she looked upset, then she started shouting at me asking why I'd picked Kaiya and why I was so blind to something so obvious..." I hesitated. "But I don't know what I'm being blind to..." I heard a huge sigh on the other end of the phone and I knew instantly it was huge.

"Conor..." David began. "As much as it hurts me to say it, because Louise means the world to me, she likes you man. More than a friend." My stomach dropped.

"What?" I exclaimed. I could feel my face getting hot. "Nah that's impossible." It can't happen! I've not even spoken to her that much!

"Think about it, man, she sticks up for you, tries to stop you getting in trouble, tries to impress you, tries to talk to you about things she cares about... She's fallen for you, and she's fallen hard." She's fallen for me? NO. This... makes so much sense now...

"So that's why she was so upset at seeing me with Kaiya?"

"Mate, even I'm annoyed at you for that. Why her? Why the most popular, fakest girl in the school?"

"Hey, she's nice under all that..." I said, instantly regretting it.

"You're sleeping with her then. It's not a relationship at all. Wow, Conor, you've hit a new low with me." He spat.

"It's none of your damned business!" I shouted back.

"I'll tell you what is, Conor..." David said with an evil laugh. "That means I've got Louise all to myself. Enjoy sleeping around, I'll be her one and only... I'm going to ring her now, comfort her and she'll run into my arms..." I clenched my hand around the phone.

"Don't talk about her like that..." I hissed.

"None of your business." David mocked. "I've got her, and you'll realise how much you missed..."

"How much I missed? We're not even friends!"

"That's what you think. If you'd asked her out she'd have said yes straight away. With you out of the picture, it's my time to shine."

"What the f-"

"See, the day we were outside Mr Gregory's I told her you liked her, I told her I liked her and she ran away to give herself time to think and weigh up who was better." David scoffed. "It's sad how I can read you better than you can read yourself..."

"But..." I had nothing to say. I didn't know what to say. The more I thought about it the more every meeting we had swam about in my memory and I overanalysed every sentence. Did I like her?

"Look, mate, I can damn well prove to you that you liked her, but it'll take a few months." David said. I didn't trust how he said it, but I had too much going on in my head for me to even think about it. "Accept my friend request and add her as a friend if it's not already done. Log in once a day for a few minutes and you'll realise what you missed..."

"What's that gonna prove?" I questioned.

"Just do it. Do it now." He stayed on the phone as I quickly accepted his friend request and accepted Louise's. "Right. So log in every day and you'll notice you've let the best thing that could have happened to you slip through your fingers..." He hung up. I stared at my screen. I can't believe I'm doing this to myself... I'm letting myself get too involved with stupid school children. I have my gang, and that's all I need! I grabbed my phone.

"Look, it was fun. It really was. But I don't need you and you don't need me. I'm done."

Sent. To Kaiya.
