"Delia? Delia! Calm down, okay? Breathe and speak slowly!" Melinda instructed her friend as the woman babbled nonsense on Melinda's front steps.

"He-Kaneki-Ned-danger-murder-bad person!-" Delia's breath was heavy and her voice held fear.

"Stop, okay!" Melinda barked. Once she'd calmed down, Melinda invited her in.

"Melinda?" Jim asked. "What's Delia doing here?"

"I don't know. I couldn't understand her." Melinda shrugged.

Delia took a shaky breath and pulled out a folded up piece of paper. "Here."

Melinda gently took it from the woman and her eyes went wide at what it was.

"An officer from Tokyo came to my door today

"An officer from Tokyo came to my door today. She was talking about how criminals were escaping from Tokyo into Grandview, America. She said this one was one of the most dangerous. It's Kaneki, Melinda. He's a murderer." Delia explained, sadly.

"It can't be..." Melinda trailed off.

Jim stood there, eyes wide and gaping.

"He's probably why Ned was in jail!" Delia cried. "He blackmailed Ned into helping him and now look what's happened!"

"Ned escaped jail, though..." Jim trailed.

"That boy probably broke him out." Delia sniffled. "He probably murdered that officer, too."

"But why would Kaneki break Ned out?" Melinda asked, eyes still glued to the file.

"To use him again? And I believed Ned actually killed someone! I'm a horrible mother!" Delia sobbed.

"It doesn't make sense..." Melinda said aloud.

She remembered the conversation between Ned and Kaneki. Kaneki was killing inhuman creatures, not humans.

Did these Tokyo police know that? Did Kaneki actually kill humans?

"Don't you see? You shouldn't be locked up for wanting to keep others safe!"

"Yet, you're saying you should be locked up?!" Ned growled.

"Yes, because it doesn't change the fact that I'll be the one to hurt the ones you want to protect! Hell, I should just die!" Kaneki retaliated.

"I'm no superhero, Ned." Kaneki stood up.

"Do I look like I am?" Ned asked.

"You'd be a better one than me."

The whole picture was wrong.

"We're missing something." Melinda said.

"There's nothing to miss! It explains everything!" Delia cried.

"But it doesn't!" Melinda shouted. She quickly explained the conversation she'd overheard to both.

"Then what's really going on?" Jim asked.
