June's POV:
"I'm gonna kill him."
"No you are not, Day"
"He did this to you, I'm gonna kill him for that."
"I did this to myself not him. Besides we don't want to go through the same thing that happened after The Elector Primo."
"He is the cause thought and I don't mind another revolution. I would lead it myself if I have to"
I look at him remembering when he left me in the masses to climb to the balcony Anden was speaking from and called the Republic of America to support Anden after Anden's father the Elector Primo died. He risked his life to get the country to support Anden and now after one little phone call he is willing to kill him. I don't get it, all I did was punch a wall and I've put Day on edge. I avert my eyes from Day not wanting the perfect vision I have of the nice sweet man I've always known to be ruined.
"Please look at me," he sighs.
"Why you just threatened to kill our leader I should be arresting you as we speak I'm doing you a favor," I don't want to be mad at him but I don't like that he is getting so riled up about a small thing.
"Pull out the cuffs as long as you look at me and talk."
"No!" I snap,"I'm not arresting you and I'm not listening to you whine like a itty bitty baby, get out!" He looks terrified and shocked to death, but he doesn't even flinch at my sudden outburst.
"June-"
"I said get out!" Slowly he gets up and drags his feet to the door probably hoping in his peanut sized brain that I'll call out to him and beg him to come back to me but I stay strong. He shuts the door behind him and I count to ten then let the tears fall. I drove him off, all I wanted for ten years is to feel his strong arms around me or just to see him in person. Now I don't even want to see him.
I gather my thoughts and walk into my room. Opening my closet I look at the variety of things to choose from, I select my skintight black suit. I pull on my sneakers and put my hair in a tight high ponytail.
Walking across my room I open my well-oiled window making sure it doesn't make a sound. If Day was mad at me he would go explore the city but I am mad at him so he would stay close just incase I call for his shoulder to cry on so I go to the only other place I know of, Tess's house.
I only use the roofs of buildings if possible if not I try to walk in alleys and shadows.
When I get to Tess's I scale the building and climb in her back window. After years on the streets her natural instinct is to run or fight but I do this so often that now she knows it's me.
"What happened this time?" She asks sounding bored.
"Day's back," I explain.
"Oh my god! Why didn't you tell me? This is amazing!" At my face towards her excitement disappears, "Actually it's horrible that he is back, but I don't know why.
I look at her with sad eyes.
"Oh no he didn't!" She suddenly gets angry, I have no idea what is going on.
"What Tess?"
"He didn't bring back a girl did he?"
"No but that would've been a lot better to deal with," I say waving my injured hands around.
"What did he do? Did he hurt you? I'm gonna kill him." I laugh, she spends two years on the street with Day and she started to think like him.
"No he didn't do this to me, I did it to myself, the sloppy wrapping job is him though. What he did came after this." Tess grabs my wrist and starts unwrapping the bandage while she does I spill. I talk about everything that happened tonight, the call with Anden, me punching the wall, and my fight with Day.
"Wow."
"I know crazy and horrible story."
"No, your hands." I look down, earlier I didn't think they were that bad because I couldn't see under the blood. Now the semi-dried blood was being covered by more blood.
Tess being the medical master she is took me over to her sink and washed all the blood off my hands and inspected the wounds. I might not be able to understand all that I'm seeing but from what I can tell the wounds are deep, I did some serious damage and it probably didn't help that I climbed here using none other than my hands.
"You broke your hands, I can see the bones from here because one of your knuckles on each hand broke through the skin," she looks at my disgusted face, "I know it sounds horrible but I feel like this is minimal damage for you. Still no climbing for awhile."
Tess starts to set my bones back into place, to avoid looking I look else where. Something catches my eye in the window, a human shadow with white blond hair. Then it clicks.
He followed me here.
