The Lost Come Home

Chapter 18

Day's POV:

Well June and Eden are having a moment. They've been hugging for about five minutes, I don't exactly know why but I think it might have to do with the paper in June's hand.

I didn't hear much but I did catch the last part of their whispered conversation, June said, "She once was shattered but now she is whole."

Riddles aren't exactly my favorite, so I back into my room and leave them to finish their little moment.

Sooner or later Tess finds us and all four of us are squeezed onto the couch to watch a movie, the girls are in the middle, the boys on the outside. I wouldn't be able to tell you the movie title but all I know is that Eden picked it out and was quoting the entire way through. About halfway through June fell asleep on my shoulder, I didn't want to move her because I doubt she has been getting much sleep. Tess is curled up under a blanket and Eden is watching the TV intently. I'm just glad they never noticed the nice moment we were having, it would've been a disaster.

As the final credits roll through I reposition myself and start to carry June to her apartment with Tess behind me. Tess heads off to the spare and I walk to June's room. I'm starting to sett June down when she mumbles something about the eyes being the trigger. I'll have to ask about it in the morning but for now everyone is exhausted and June is dead asleep, so I head back to my place and flop down on my bed, I fall asleep as my head hits the pillow.

June's POV:

I wake up a 8:30 with the sun shining brightly through my window, I have no idea how I've slept so long, I haven't slept in till 8:30 in years. I get up slowly not wanting to leave the warmth of my own bed.

Once I'm up I make myself a coffee and make a bowl of cereal. I don't hear Tess stirring so I finish my breakfast and grab a book to read while I wait. I don't have to wait long on Tess she gets up early like me but it turns out we both got the best sleep ever last night. I don't remember much of it to be honest.

"Hey Tess?"

"Yeah?"

"What happened after the movie last night? I don't remember."

"You didn't make it through the entire movie you were drooling down Day's shirt by the end."

"I was?"

"Yeah its fine he still likes you, he even carried you back to your room. I bet he wanted to stay." Tess looks over at me for my reaction and wiggles her eyebrows."

"Tess it is too early to have conversations like this."

"Would you have minded if he stayed? I mean you were already knocked out, you probably wouldn't have even noticed till this morning."

"I probably wouldn't have noticed till this morning, but I also don't want to start my day with being scared to death and pressing a knife to Day's throat."

"Where would you get the knife?"

"Tess, I was trained to be on edge since I was fifteen I sleep with a butterfly knife under my pillow."

"Remind me not to wake you up, ever. Wait if you have I knife under your pillow, do you have some secret armory hidden in your apartment?"

"No are you crazy?"

"So the only self defense you have is a tiny knife and your bare hands? I feel safe already."

"No I have at least five weapons in this place that are hard to find but easily accessible."

"Ooh what are they and are you going to teach me how to use them."

"There is two guns, a crossbow, a Rondell dagger, and mythril knife. Yes I will teach you how to use them but not here."
