Day's POV:

June has been gone for an hour and I'm kind of freaking out. Last time her and Anden had a conversation she punched a wall, then me. I think Eden can tell I'm on edge but he doesn't seem to care. He thinks that when I get like this he should just back off and let me get over the mountain myself.

I hear someone try the front door, then knock. I know it isn't Tess, she would've just picked the lock. I walk slowly to the door. I'm five feet away when I hear, "Day! Eden! Open up before I bust the door down!" June. She's back. I fling the door open and she falls into my arm sobbing.

I turn my head to see Eden walk out of his door take one look at us and turn around walking back in his room shutting the door behind him.

"What in the world happened?" I ask walking her shaking body over to the couch. I never thought June was this emotional she used to never be like this.

"You aren't going to like it."

"I'll survive."

"No, you won't."

"How do you know, because last time I told you something not even near as bad as this you were planning on murdering a government official." She ducks her head to the side and fake coughs, trying to hide the name Anden inside.

"You can't do anything like that ok?"

"Ok."

I stare into her water filled eyes making sure she knows I'm telling the truth. She drags in a long breath, "AndengavemeamissionandIhavetogototheColonies." She blurts out the entire thing.

"I didn't get that."

Suddenly Eden is standing in his doorway pointing his pointer finger at me, "Oh gurl you need to work on being bilingual, you're second language will be emotional wreck language."

"You understood that?" I don't know where this came from.

"Yeah I did."

What in the world. Eden is crazy, that is my only explanation. "Ok Mr. Bilingual what did she say?"

"She said, Anden gave me a mission and I have to go to the Colonies." He recites it and looks pleased with it then says, "I'll let you talk," then walks back into his room.

Since we definitely don't have any privacy on the couch, we walk into my room. June is still crying, but it is nowhere near the Niagara Falls we saw earlier. There is silent tears falling down her face and I don't want to explode and make it worse.

"Well..." I don't really know what to say she is still crying and I don't know what to do. "He wants you to go to the Colonies"

"Yes," she breaths trying to stop the tears. We're sitting on my bed and I wait until the tears are gone. She stares up at me with big eyes, "I'm sorry." She isn't making any sense anymore.

"Why are you sorry? You didn't do anything wrong."

"I'm leaving you, You just got back and don't even have a job to support yourself."

"Ok Mom." I joke trying to get the mood up.

If looks could kill I would be in the ground. She stares me down like I'm a murderer saying I'm innocent even though the evidence is covering my hands.

She tilts her head to the side and bursts into tears again, "You do know I'm the reason your mom's dead right?"

"Your crying over things that are far in the past. Calm. Down." She leans her head into my chest and I kiss her soft dark hair.

She starts to try and match my breathing calming herself down almost instantly. I'm worried for her, the last time we were in the Colonies she got sick and almost died, if she is going alone I might try tying her up so she can't get away.

I look down at her and say, "If you don't want to go tell Anden I mean if he really cares for you he won't make you go."

"Ok I'll ask." She gets up and starts to walk away, "Thanks for the pep talk and patting my back through the emotional breakdown." She seems fine already.
