The Lost Come Home

Chapter 13

June's POV:

After the incident with Day, we all headed back to the beach and start to gather our stuff.

"June," I turn around to find Day.

"Yes?"

"Why did you do that?"

"Did what? You have to be more specific I've done a lot of things today."

"When you distracted me to let Tess knock me into the water."

"Oh that."

"Yeah that." I turn around to keep packing up my stuff.

"Well it didn't look like you were going to get back into the water anytime soon so we decided to get you in and have a laugh at the same time."

"I'm honored to be the source of your laughter." He said that then bent into a low bow.

"You should've kept your eyes open, it would've been harder on us if you did."

"Thanks for the battle strategy lesson but I can't see behind me so that worked in your favor."

I sling my bag over my shoulder and start to walk past him. As I pass I whisper, "Expect the unexpected."

Day's POV:

It's been a few hours since the whole me getting beat up by two girls thing and I want revenge and know the way to get it.

I wait until 11:00PM and hope June is asleep, I pick the lock to her apartment and bring in the pounds of plastic cups I bought earlier today. I walk into her kitchen and start to fill them up. I know few things about June and I use one to my advantage, she's a hard sleeper. I grab two cups and walk to her room she left the door to her room so I walk right in. I slowly start to fill her apartment floor with cups of water. By the time I finish It is about four in the morning.

I creep back into my place and I almost make it to my room but Eden turns on the light in the living room.

"Going somewhere?"

I don't want to deal with this, "Yeah! My room."

"Did you come from June's?"

"Yes."

"Why are you back at 4:00AM? She kick you out again?"

"No."

"Aww he's embarrassed," Eden clasps his hands over his heart and wipes away a tear that never existed.

"Shut up."

"And grumpy. Remind me to stay away from you in the mornings I'll leave that to June."

"I'll let you see what is going on over there."

"Why?"

"You want it to be a surprise?" His eyes widen and he nods. I walk into my room and close my door but leave my blinds on my window open so I can wake up with the sun, there is no way I'm going to miss this. Tonight is one of the surprising nights where I dream.

I dream of what my life would be like if I never knew June. Although this dream isn't happy it isn't sad or terrifying either.

I'm with Tess watching the water on the roof of the collapsed library. We talk about how many Notes we have and if we need any weapons then we fall into a comfortable silence. We both jump to our feet as we hear a shriek. "Day I know you did this!"

I almost fall off my bed, that wasn't apart of my dream. The monster has risen.

When I get to the living room Eden is literally bouncing off the walls chanting, "What did you do?"
