"I think you have the wrong person." He said, standing up and bowed before lefting you alone at the corner.

You sat frozen by his words. Fingers trembling and shiver ran down your spine. You were starting to doubt him but at the same time you were not going to.
You didn't want to believe each of his words. You knew that he was 'him'. But why? Why would he said you got the wrong person?

Sighing, you got up. Your pupil moved its way to Kuroko as you hugged the towel in your hand.

You watched him with his stunning moves, tapping the ball to other players.

Then, you remembered how you fisrt met him, a ball made its way to your feet and it was when the boy came and asked you for it.

It was a basketball. This strenghten your belief when you saw Kuroko enjoying the sport.

Your being in the gym wasn't long as it took thirty minutes for the rain to stop and for you to go home afterwards. You excused yourself and left.

Riko, seeing that you were rejected, put on a sad face but you assured her. Telling that you wouldn't give up. You wanted to make her worries gone.

You walked at the streets. You were having mixed emotions. Each steps you took made you think of Kuroko and how desperate you wanted him to be the boy. Why was love so complicated?

As the time goes by, you noticed that it was quite late. The stars had already appeared in the sky, making the night looked beautiful and more meaningful.. or was it?

What will happen when stars doesn't exist? The night will get dull. Just the same as your feelings and you wouldn't want something like that, like a drama where the rain came when you were upset or good weather when you were happy.

Such craps.

"H-hey! You!"

Hearing the masculine voice, you came to a halt. Your eyes searched for the voice when you found a familiar guy fastening his pace behind you.

"Hi." He greeted when he had neared you.

You were confused as you looked to the right and left before pointing with your index finger to yourself, earning a nod from him.

Soon your eyes met his scarlet eyes that was shoned by a dim light of the streets.

There were still a few people walking. The street was never empty before midnight so you didn't feel weird when you met the guy.

He smiled. "You're the one at the gym today. You talked to Kuroko didn't you?"

"Y-yeah. And you are.." You tried your best to remember him as you lightly hit your head with your knuckle but unfortunately, you couldn't.

Who was him again? You thought.

His smile slowly faded as he started to scratch his hair. "Kagami Taiga." He stated.

Then it struck you. The dunking guy. Right. You took out your hand to shake his while forcing out a smile.

"(L/N) (Y/N). Nice to meet you."

"Are you walking home?" Asked the red head. Now that you realized it, he was quite tall.

You nodded. "Do you need anything?"

"No. It's just.. you looked sad." His face was shown concerned towards you but why? You didn't know him.

You didn't want some stranger to get into your personal space so you dodged the question and excused yourself for it was already late for dinner.

You left him disappointed. He just wanted to know you. And you knew but it wasn't the time.

***

It was awkward. Really awkward.

Kagami was walking by your side, spinning the ball on his index finger since you weren't talking to him. You felt guilty.

It happened when you were at the convenience store; that was the only store near your house. You bought a few things that your mom listed.

After you left Kagami, your mom called you, saying that she hadn't cook dinner yet because the lack of veggies to make a soup.

And then you just had to meet Kagami again. He told you his house was also the same way as yours.

Now, you had to walk with him.

"I'm sorry." You took a quick glance at him before looking ahead again.

"Why?" You asked in confusion.

He put on a sad smile before he spoke. "I didn't mean to make you mad. I was just.." He stopped talking.

Was just what? You halted. You looked at him and widened your eyes in shocked when he suddenly bowed.

"Can we be friends?"

"W-what?"

Soon, he lifted up his head and stood straight. He lowered his eyes on the ground, the ball on his hands was held tighter than before.

"I was just.. worried. I guess."

You smiled. You had forgot about Kuroko for a moment. "Ok." You simply replied as you both started to walk.

You noticed that Kagami never stopped smiling.

What had make me that special to make as a friend? You thought to yourself as both of you arrived at your destination.

"This is my house." You said, standing in front of your home.

Kagami didn't even blink. He repeatedly pointed his finger at your house and then at the apartmen beside it.

You were starting to get annoyed. "What is it?"

Grinning, Kagami dribbled the basketball and laughed a little. "We're neighbours."
