I make my way towards the campfire to have the first official camp meeting. "Hello, boys and girls!" Said some guy who I assume is the head counselor. "Welcome to camp Songbird! We are all going to have a great time! But I do have some rules." Everyone started to boo. "I know. I know. Ok rule number 1. Keep your cabins clean 2. Respect your fellow campers 3. Classes are mandatory so unless you are sick, you must attend all activities 4. If you are late to any of your classes we will assign you to do a chore for the day. But the most important rule is rule number 5. Have fun!" That's when everyone cheered. "I'm your head counselor Brandon and over here are my helpers, Trixie, Amy, and Landon. They will help you with anything you need so ask them anything." Brandon said. "Now since it's our first night here let's kick this month off with some campfire songs!" Brandon cheered. Oh boy. Then a girl started to sing "silent night, holy night, all is calm, all is bright." Then everyone else joined in. While everyone else was singing I was looking down at my feet. I wanted to run away and hide. I don't want to be here! When I looked up for one moment I scanned the area and looked at everyone. I stopped when I found Derek. He was, staring at me. Smiling. He waved at me it was a tiny wave but it was to me. I put my head back down. I made my own rule that night, rule number 6. Don't get to close to you fellow campers. The song started over. I started to sing along,
round yon virgin mother and child, holy infant so tender and mild, sleep in heavenly peace...sleep in heavenly peace...
Music makes everything better.
