When I got back into the cabin Max was there waiting for me. "Oh my gosh! Your okay! Thank goodness!" She yelled. Physically, yes I'm ok. Emotionally, no I'm not. "Yeah, I'm fine. Sorry I scared you." I said. "No! Don't apologize. I'm just glad you're ok." She said. "I'm going to go take a shower." I said. And then I quickly walked out of the cabin. "You know, Olivia. Being alone isn't going to solve your problems." I heard max say behind me. (Go away) I wanted to say back, instead I kept walking. I lied, I wasn't going to take a shower. Instead I went to the lake and sat on a dock. I took my shoes off and dunked them into the water. And just when I felt at peace I heard a voice behind me.
"Hey, blond beauty!" It said. Derek. Seriously? I gave him a death glare. "Whoa. Someone's in a mood. What's wrong?" He asked. I said nothing, and I put my head down. He said nothing for a while. When he did speak he said, "It's such a beautiful day! Don't you think?" What? I just looked at him bewildered. "Seriously?" I asked. "What? It is." He replied. I took my feet out of the water, stood up, and started to walk away. "Hey. Wait! I'm sorry if I made you upset. I was trying to be funny!" He called after me. That's when I lost it. "Funny!?! Funny?! That's your idea of funny?!? What the heck is wrong with you? I don't want to laugh I just want to be alone! Why can't anyone here see that?" I yelled. Derek's eyes turned sad, his smile faded. "You know, that's your problem, Olivia. If you'd let people into your life, maybe you would be happier. I'll go away now. Have a nice day." He turned and walked away from me. The only person who could make me smile in this hell I'm living in, and I pushed him away. Why? Gosh I'm stupid!
