Summer is officially here. A whole summer consisting of reading, swimming, and my favorite, going to music camp! Except, I'm not looking forward to any of that stuff. Not anymore. "Sweet heart! Your dad is here to take you to his house!" My mother yelled. Great. The first time at my dad's house. On the way to his house I read a book. He starts talking to me and says I should look at the scenery. So I did. A cornfield on the left a cornfield on the right. Oh look! Another cornfield! Great scenery, dad. I go back to my book. I can hear my dad sigh. "I'm sorry." He says. "For what?" I ask. "I don't know, for everything." And that was that. That was the only conversation we had on that two hour car ride. We pull up to the house. It isn't huge, it isn't small either. It's perfect. He left mom in a tiny apartment in Nebraska! And moved here! I was angry. Frustrated. How could he do this to her!? To us! Not only am I broken but out family is too!
We go inside the house. Once inside he shows me to my room. I shut the door behind me and I stay there until dinner. My dad knows to give me my space. Around 5:30 my dad knocks on my door. "Dinner is ready. It's your favorite. Cheese burgers and fries." I don't move. I want him to go away. This is all just a bad dream! I need to wake up! Wake up! "Olivia come on!" My dad yelled from the kitchen. I went down stairs and into the kitchen where I found my dad. He was talking to a women. "I'm here." I said. "Aw, Olivia! There you are!" My dad exclaimed. The women approached me and gave me a hug like we know each other. "Olivia!" She said. "It's so good to finally meet you!" I smile a fake smile get a plate, pile it with food, and then I start heading to my room. "Wait, Olivia!" My dad calls. "You can't eat up there." Since when can't I eat in my room? I sit at the dining room table and eat as fast as I can. "Jeesh, slow down little girl. Hahaha!" The women says laughing like a horse. I start getting angry. Who does this women think she is!? Making fun of me! I stand up, throw the rest of my food away, and go back to my room without saying s word. "What's the matter with her?" I hear the women say behind me. I want to go home. That's what. But I can't. By law I have to come here. Who is that lady! I already hate her! Wait. No! My dad couldn't have moved on from my mother already! How could he! They got divorced only two days ago! There is no way! How could he do this to her?! To me! To us... I start to cry again. I can't wait until I leave tomorrow. I want to go home.
