He was tall, with blonde hair, that looked almost golden and sapphire blue eyes

Ever: Lady Maya Devin, Mr. Axel Merrins. This my older brother, Auden

She pointed to a girl with emerald eyes and ebony hair: My sister Meryl

Then to a very beautiful girl, she was mesmerising: My sister Helena

Her eyes were a vivid emerald and her hair glistening silver

She pointed to an older couple: Our parents, Lord Beryn and Lady Ellae Nightingale

The man was tall, with jet black hair, like Ever and the emerald green eyes of her sisters. The woman was very beautiful, her hair silver, like woven moonlight, she had big chocolate brown doe eyes, just like Ever

Axel noted Ever looked a lot like her father, but he could see her mother in her as well

Everyone said nice to meet you

She was quiet, and let them talk to eachother. She was thankful for the prince's presence. He steered the conversation, it was easier for her to relax this way

The peace didn't last, she heard a nasal voice she knew so well, accompanied by giggles and chuckles

There was a group of young Fae approaching, with hair in the colors of bubble gum blue, aqua, pink, magenta, and green

The owner of the voice was the one with the magenta hair, her eyes black as coals: Oh Ever, Don't we get an introduction as well

Axel saw a tick in her jaw, but it was momentary. Did he imagine it?

Ever: Lady Sloane Emmerdale, Lord Erik Bernes, Lady Meria Malice, and Lord Ferris and Lady Farrow Garland

The girls curtsied and the boys bowed

Ever looked less than thrilled with the new addition to the group

They stayed there, chatting mostly to Maya and the prince. One of the girls tried flirting with Axel. She didn't get a satisfactory result

The night ended, and the guests started to leave. Meria, the one with the magenta hair stood near Ever

The guards gave her pitying glances

Meria: Has the prince finally noticed your existance, Never? Don't get ahead of yourself though, he'll never see you that way

Ever: Neither will he you, Meria

Meria: That's lady Meria to you

Ever: Unfortunately for you, you don't outrank me

Meria: I'm better at magic than you'll ever be, that's all that matters

Ever: It doesn't matter to me. If I were you, I'd behave more like a lady, you don't want his highness to see you this way

Meria: When did you grow a backbone? You've never tried to talk back at me before

Ever: I've just had enough of your pettiness

Meria: Why you!

The air crackled around her with magic

Ever: Careful, you know using magic against eachother is punishable by imprisonment, physical force on the other hand..

She let her meaning carry

Meria stomped her foot and left fuming. It was the funniest look Ever had ever seen

Ever smiled

Man: You know she's going to make your life harder now, don't you?

Ever: She can't do anymore than she's already done, Gavin

Axel: Instead of reproaching her, maybe you could've helped

Gavin was about to retort, but Ever gestured with her hand, silencing him

Ever: It's alright Gavin. He couldn't have done anything, but thank you for your concern Mr. Merrins. The only result would be causing his life to become harder, and nothing would change for me either way

Axel: It's Axel. I still disagree, but you are right, what he does or doesn't isn't my business. Still, I'm proud of you, for standing up for yourself. Maybe threatning her wasn't the best idea though

Ever: She's ought to know where she stands. They all think everyone else is beneath them. My parents' rank is higher than hers, but I don't like to flaunt it. It doesn't mean anything. Nobelity isn't just related to birth, it's how you act

Axel smiled at her

Gavin: Good night Nightingale

Ever: Night Gavin, Mr... Axel

His eyes twinkled, he liked hearing his name on her tongue: Night, Ever
