When morning came, Ever and company were woken up by the pixies. They were by no means well rested. Ever thought that how the pixies were able to be this energitic after that long night was beyond her

Last night's dates continued to accost them today as well

Maya and Romeo looked longingly at eachother. Ever gave Axel a weak smile and a far away look, he replied with a similar look on his face

Noire just wanted a reprieve from female attention. It was just too tiring for the old soldier

Garnel: Haven't you kids had enough fun at their expense. Give them a break already

Norland: Fine, you kill joy..

He snapped his fingers and his friends retreated

Ever and her friends heaved great sighs of relief

Norland: Now that was just rude! Are we such a bad company

Ever arched a brow: Do you really want an answer to your question

He laughed: Aren't you a feisty one, my dear

Axel gave him a pointed stare

Norland: We were just having a bit of fun. It was amusing seeing how you feel about eachother, and how big old warrior here is so green when it comes to the ladies

All five people blushed and chose not to answer

Garnel: Norland..

Norland: Fine, fine.. We have discussed the issue amongst ourselves, and we've decided to join your alliance. As it seems, war is coming soon, and we need to pick sides..

Romeo nodded at him and bowed: Thank you for joining us. In a short while we will have a meeting with all our allies, as for now, we thank you for your hospitality and regret that we must take our leave to reach our lands as soon as possible

Norland smirked at the mention of said regret, but chose wisely not to comment at it

They all said their goodbyes and embarked on the journey back to the land of Fae

This time around, Romeo, Maya and Noire all erected shields around the group. Ever could only help strategizing the outlay of the shields, she still felt a bit of a burden at not being able to actively participate in the shield formation, but kept her feelings on the matter to herself

Days have gone by, in which the group was getting weary. They had to keep the shields up at all times, preparing to be attacked any possible moment

They were half way to the Fae palace when it happened

They could feel dark magic build around them, fortunately for them the shields were strong, but the dark force kept building up, and they were getting more tired by the minute

Axel: We have to keep going and increase our pace if possible. We are running out of time..

The others nodded, Maya, Romeo and Noire were already panting

Ever: We need another mode of transport, but I don't know if we are going to be able to procure that, seeing as this ominous presence is around us..

She was thinking of calling on unicorns, but the pure creatures wouldn't come near them with such dark forces around

Maybe she could use wind.. She looked at their carraige, it was worth a shot

Ever concentrated, and finally was able to conjure sails to the carraige. It was a funny spectacle but would have to do

The others understood what she tried to do, but didn't have enough energy to spare to help her

She struggled to call on the winds. It was incredibly hard to do this time

She tried multiple times before a small wind breezed by. She grunted, frustrated, this is not good..

Suddenly, Axel held her hand, he closed his eyes and concentrated a second, murmuring words under his breath

Ever was perplexed, but she suddenly felt a strong gust of wind.. She added her call to his, and the wind they needed heeded their call

They were finally getting closer to the palace

Once they reached it, the trio holding the shields up collapsed.. A flurry of guards, servants and doctors tended to them

Ever looked at Axel, who wouldn't meet her gaze

He was retreating to his room, she rushed behind him and gripped his hand

Ever: You are part elf, aren't you?
