Maya: Wow! How did you do that?!

Ever grumbled: That's basic combat magic, even a child can do it. You can too, if you want

Maya's eyes lit up: Oh! I'd love to learn how to do it! Oh, and the tornado as well!

Ever nodded: It would come in handy

Then she murmured, yours would be better

Axel was again, looking at her.. He was wondering why she was so bitter, was it just her jealousy over the prince, or something else?

Romeo: We will arrange for lessons when we reach the palace, why I can teach you myself!

He looked overly pleased by that thought

Ever was glad they were back on their way, she wouldn't have to look at them this way, but she will still have to guard this girl till her visit ended, that is if it even did

They travelled for a few days, they needed to camp though, while going on like this didn't affect her or the prince in the least, Maya was considerably tired, she was just too selfless to point that out, Axel, however didn't seem much worse for wear. This seemed to puzzle Ever even more

When a couple of days passed and there was no second attack, they started to relax a little

Ever knew better than to though, and the calm atmosphere around her was affecting her

Axel sat next to her, while Mays and Romeo retired to their tents

She had been avoiding him for the previous nights, and they were too tense to strike conversation anyway

Axel: It's nice here, your nature is beautiful..

Ever nodded: It's because we don't use technology and have pullotion like the human world

Axel: I guess you are right, but you have magic instead. It's not so abundant in our world, and it's hard to use it, people with the gift are saught after like prey. Greed is a dangerous thing..

Ever: We do know about that, greed exists here as much as it does in your world. Here, magic is everything, the more you have of it, the more power you can get, some don't use it like they should

Axel: We're not so different after all

She shook her head: We're not

Axel: How long have you known the prince?

Ever: All my life..

Axel: But he doesn't seem to know you

Ever said defensively: You know he's a prince, of course he doesn't know each and everyone of his subjects

She was going to stand, he grabbed her arm to stop her

That made her flustered. She was unused to any physical contact from strangers, especially men

He saw it in her face and he let go before she hit him or something

Axel: Calm down, I didn't mean anything. I was just trying to get to know you. You intrigue me

She looked at him warily

Ever: Why? I'm just a normal person

Axel: You're unlike any fae I've ever met before

Ever arched a brow: And how many have you met?

Axel: Not many, but you're still different, they seemed too much alike..

Ever's face twisted, yeah, probably my lack of magic..

He saw her change in mood, and wondered why

Ever: What about you Mr. Merrin

Axel: Call me Axel

She rolled her eyes: Axel, what about you, you seem different from normal humans, and not like Maya either

He smiled and his eyes twinkled: And have you met any humans before?

Ever: No, but I've read about them, and I can feel it. Fae senses are more sensitive than humans'. The way you dealt with the horses that day, it was effortless. What are you?

Axel: Do I intrigue you as well? Good..

She was going to retort, but they both heard a commotion and jumped. Relaxing their guard was a mistake. They were ambushed..
