9: An eventful night

Anya:

We were halfway through the first game and I was sitting in Vinnie’s lap, next to Cam, who was sitting in Sam’s lap. It seemed as if the boys didn’t mind at all. Vinnie had his arms securely around my waist which was weird at first but I had grown comfortable with his arms around me.

“Anya, it’s my turn to bowl!” Vinnie told me. I frowned.

“No it isn’t,” I retorted.

“Anya! Get off! I want to bowl!” He whined.

“Fine,” I grumbled. I stood up and let him grab his ball to bowl with. I plopped in the hard plastic seat and crossed my arms unhappily. Cam and Sam laughed at my unhappiness. “It not nice to laugh at my misfortune guys!” I complained.

“We weren’t laughing at you misfortune! I swear,” Sam chuckled.

“Whatever!” I shouted over-dramatically.  I was going to stand up but a weight on my legs anchored me down.

“You’re really comfy, Anya,” Vinnie grinned.

“That’s nice to know, Vinnie,” I mumbled. “Now get up! I want to go get soda!”

“Alright,” he frowned. He stood up and I went to the snack bar.

“What can I get you?” the girl at the counter beamed.

“Can I get a Strawberry Fanta?” I asked.

“Fanta Fanta, don’t you want a?” She sang. “Can I get you anything else?” She beamed.

“Nope that’ll be all,” I smiled.

“That’s $1.15,” She sang. Money was slapped onto the counter and my body stiffened in front of anothers.

“I got this,” a voice whispered in my ear as he pushed the money forward on the counter. His lips grazed my ear as he pulled backwards. I turned to a smirking Jace. “It’s your turn to bowl anyway.”

“O--okay,” I stuttered before thanking both the cashier and Jace for the Fanta in my hand and walking swiftly to my lane.

I picked up my green 10 pound ball and rushed forward, rolling the ball along the ground and leading to the pins I wanted it to hit. It spun down the lane and I took a couple of steps back, waiting in anticipation. It seemed like the ball was going to get me a strike. It inched nearer and nearer quickly until finally it collided with the pins with a loud crash. All ten pens were bowled over and I jumped with joy and cheered for myself. For my first game, I was a natural.

“Nice job, Anya,” he said into my ear as he put his hands on my shoulders and I stiffened once more. I grounded my teeth together, getting annoyed with him surprising me and getting so close to me. I curled my fingers into tight fists. I was quickly losing my patients with this guy! He had been pulling stunts like this all night. I spun around to come face-to-face with Nathan’s gorgeous older brother.

“Would you back off a bit?” I asked through my grounded teeth.

“Sure,” he answered with a smirk before taking a step back.

“Thank you,” I said before muttering, “I didn’t think it’d be so simple.”

Jace:

“I didn’t think it’d be so simple,” she muttered under her breath. That’s where you are wrong my dear, I said silently while staring after her. Nothing is ever so simple. I straightened up and walked back over to the snack bar, sneaking a peak down Anya’s-who was sitting on Vincent again, which angered me- top. I walked into the snack bar to see the strawberry blonde still at the counter in her red skirt that reached almost to her knees and her white shirt that hugged her torso ever so tightly. I stared at her like I imagined a lion would stare at its prey. She was standing at the counter with her face resting in her hands. I stalked up to the counter. She stood up straight and glared at me a bit. “Hello gorgeous,” I smirked.
