I looked up to see Damon's face once again frozen into a scowl. Klaus new I was alive and I'm pretty sure he wants me dead. I mean I'm supposed to be dead so Klaus can make more hybrids. Why wouldn't he kill me? Damon hadn't moved a muscle so I turned around to face him.
"Damon I've gotta go. Stefan needs me." I reasoned. He didn't answer at first but I could tell what his answer would be.
"No. Elena there is no way I'm putting you in that much danger."
"There's only a matter of time before Klaus tracks me down and kills me because I'm supposed to be dead so why shouldn't I go?"
"I won't let Klaus hurt you but if you go in there it's a suicide mission." He said his voice raising as he stood. Damon started pacing the floor trying to think of a plan. I grabbed onto the sleeve of his shirt and pulled him back to me. I cupped his cheek in my hand so he'd listen to me.
"Calm down Damon. You know I have to go. I'm as good as dead if I run, this way I have a chance at saving myself and Stefan. Please just let me go"
"I can't" the pain was evident on his face at denying me the freedom to see his brother.
"Well than I'll have to go without you"I said dropping my hands from his face and walking out the bathroom.
The parking lot was mostly empty but I spotted a man who looked honest enough. I trekked right over to his car window and knocked. I startled him a bit but he immediately rolled down the window.
"Where are you headed?" I asked after fixing my hair and bra.
"Virginia beach" the blond haired man answered.
"Mind if I tag along?" I said trying my best to be sexy.
"S-sure"he stuttered. I giggled and walked around to the passenger seat. Before I got in I saw Damon walk out of the diner scanning the parking lot for me. I instantly felt guilty but I had to see Stefan, no matter the cost. I pushed the feeling of guilt away and tried to make small talk with the stranger. After about 4 hours he pulled over at a motel. I was constantly looking behind me to see if Damon's baby blue convertible would be behind us. Strangely it never was which made me incredibly worried. I decided to call him when I got to my room. It rang for what seemed like forever but nobody picked up. I started freaking out. I never should've left him. Who knows what happened! I decided to text him and when I didn't get a response I called again. Still no answer. I had to go back so I ran out of the room and started walking on the road that got us to the motel. Once I found Damon I could go see Stefan too....hopefully. I was practically running through the chilly night trying to get to wherever Damon was.
I had been walking/running for the past 45 minutes when I saw Damon's familiar car approach me. I started waving my hands like a maniac hoping to get his attention. The car slowed to a stop and a woman rolled down her car window.
"Can I help you?" She asked in a sort of bratty tone.
"N-no. I thought y were someone else."I explained "sorry".
"Whatever"she said with an eye roll and drove away.
I kept walking in spite of my hope hanging on a thread. I would keep looking forever because Damon would do the same for me. I know I should be going towards Stefan but finding Damon seemed more important right now.
Suddenly I heard a branch crack and I spun around. My breathing picked up and I started to walk faster. This time it was a rustle of leaves that made me jump.
"Hello?" I yelled hoping to not get an answer.
Someone emerged from behind a tree.
"Hello, Elena" I woman's voice called out.
I knew who it was. "Katherine"
