"Hey Tori." I said as I pulled the woman into a hug.

"Hey, how are you holding up?" She asked as we pulled back.

"I'm doing good thanks." I said and she smiled.

"How many Dauntless do we have?" Four asked Tori in a hushed voice as we all began to walk inside Candor.

"175 in total." She said and I was truly shocked by that.

"175 that's it?" I whisper-yelled and Tori nodded.

"Yeah the rest followed Max, not nearly the numbers we need." She said.

"Hold it!" Someone shouted. I immediately pulled the gun out from my pants and aimed at at a Candor guard who was aiming at Tris.

"Drop your guns." He said then Four, Tris and I all looked hesitantly towards each other.

"Hey they're with us." Tori said but the guard ignored her.

"We know who you are, last warning. Drop your guns." He said. I made eye contact with Four and he nodded lightly.

"Alright." Four said before putting his gun on the ground, so Tris and I followed. As soon as I stood back up again, there was a guard tying my hands together in front of me.

"Easy." Four said to the guard next to him. The guards then immediately started pulling us through the compound and up to Jack Kang's office, which I recognised. They took us into a room and we stood waiting.

"I'm Jack Kang. I'm leadership here." He began but Four cut him off.

"Yeah we know who you are. We are not a threat to Candor." Four said.

"That may be your truth, it's not necessarily mine." Jack shot back.

"All I know for certain is that you are all wanted for criminal insurgency and conspiring on the attack on Abnegation." Jack said as some holograms came up on his desk showing our pictures.

"Those are lies." I said and he looked up at me.

"Brayden I'm not so sure what to believe now." He said to me.

"If you were Candor I would take you at your word, unfortunately given the circumstances I'm obliged to hand you over to the council, you can make your case there." He said and I sighed deeply before looking to Four, who just shook his head at me.

"You might as well just kill us now. If Jeanine finds us we're not gonna live to stand trial." Tris spoke up.

"I doubt that very much. She would never supersede the council." Jack said.

"Are you sure about that? Who's gonna stop her? You?" She said then there was silence.

"Factional law must be upheld." Jack said then gestured for the guards to take us away. And they did.

"Wait, wait, wait." Four said and pulled himself back so he was facing Jack.

"Can I ask you one question?" He said then the guard pushed him down onto his knees.

"Jeanine believes Erudite are most fit to govern because they are the smartest. You believe that Candor is best fit to judge because you're so honest." Four said, waiting for Jack to confirm.

"I admit, I do hold that belief." Jack said and Four nodded.

"Would you say that a trial held here in Candor would be more more fair than a trial held by Erudite?" Four said. Jack then gestured for Four to stand up, so he did.

"The answer is yes. In my opinion a Candor trial would have the greatest chance of receiving true justice. So are you asking me to petition the council to grant Candor that power?" Jack said.
