After leaving, I headed to Eric's to get him.
"Hey babe." He said as he opened the door.
"Hey Eri." I said and walked in.
"You want a drink?" He asked and I nodded.
"Yeah, hit me up." I said and he laughed. He walked to his kitchen to get drinks so I went and sat on his couch.
"Here you go." He said and handed me a beer.
"Thank you." I said as he sat beside me.
"Did you have a good day?" He asked and I shrugged.
"Yeah I suppose." I said and he kissed my cheek lightly.
"First day tomorrow." He said and I chuckled.
"Yep but promise me something, please be nicer to the initiates this year." I said and he laughed lightly.
"I don't know babe, they usually work harder if their scared." He said and I giggled. I quickly finished the beer and set it on the table.
"Well long day ahead? Bed?" I said and he nodded. He took the empty bottles to the kitchen as I went into his bedroom. I stripped down to my underwear for comfort and he did the same. He climbed in beside me and wrapped an arm around my waist. I lay my hands across his chest and breathed in his scent.
"Good night Eri. I love you." I mumbled.
"Night Bray. I love you." He whispered an kissed my hair. I fell asleep that night to the sound of Eric's heart.
.
"Get up!" I shouted as I smashed a metal pipe against the railing in the room. The transfers groaned and I laughed loudly.
"Grab something to eat then I want everyone in the Pit. You have 30 minutes." I shouted and hit the pole one more time before walking out. I walked to get breakfast by myself.
"Hello Mr. Four fears." I said as I sat at a table with Four.
"Hello Miss. Four fears." He said sarcastically and I chuckled.
"You know maybe I should just ask people to call me Four now." I pondered and he shook his head.
"No. You can have three or five but not Four. Sorry Bray." He said and I pouted.
"But I wanna be Four." I teased and he laughed.
"I'm not changing sorry Bray." He said and I laughed.
"That's alright Four, you can keep your name." I said and we talked a bit more.
"Let's go." He said and I nodded. We walked to the Pit to wait on the initiates to come. When they did, they all huddled in a group.
"There are two stages of training. The first is physical, push your bodies to their breaking point and master the methods of combat. The second is mental, again breaking point. You'll face your fears and conquer them, unless they get you first. You will be trained separately from the Dauntless born but ranked together. The rankings at the end of initiation determine what jobs you will move into. Leadership, guarding the fence, or keeping the factionless from killing each other." Four said as he paced about then Eric spoke up from behind me.
"The rankings will also determine who gets cut." He said and a few people gasped. I saw Tris and Christina look at each other then back to Eric.
"Cut?" Christina said as Eric had a slight smirk on his face.
"At the end of each stage of training our lowest ranking initiates will be leaving us." He said and people looked fearful.
"To do what?" Al spoke up.
