Why would they want to talk to someone like me. Why is the little fairy look at me like I'm the reincarnation of some great hero. AND WHY DID RAVEN KISS ME?????!!!!! That stupid crazy, pointy eared freak is driving me up the wall and the worst thing is I let him. Why does he have to be so attractive. Why couldn't i have landed on an ugly elf, my life would be less confusing if i did.

Selene glances over at Raven and looks for some flaw that will make him less attractive, but she finds nothing. Sadly that pointy-eared freak is the definition of sexy.Raven glances at her in confusion, but doesn't say anything(shocker). Selene glances back towards the fairy, who still hasn't given them her name. They are going to see two important people who honestly shouldn't even know her name. Selene's so lost in thought she doesn't notice the tree root jutting out of the ground. Selene being as clumsy as she is trips right over it. The ground starts rushing towards her, but then strong arms wrap around her waste and pull her into a muscular chest. She looks up at her savior to thank him, but stops at the look in his eyes. His eyes are filled with an emotion she's never seen before and can't help but want to see it more. It makes her feel safe and needed, it makes her feel important. The gaze is broken when he swings her up into his arms.

"Get some rest. You didn't really sleep last night and once we get there it's going to be awhile before we rest." Raven says without looking at her.

"But then you would have to carry me, which would annoy you and I don't particularly want to deal with you when you're annoyed." Selene says uncomfortably.

"Just sleep," is Raven's oh so brilliant reply. Not wanting to argue, Selene moves around a bit to get comfortable and lays her head on his chest. She lets the darkness take over while listening to the strong, steady heartbeat of Raven.

Raven looks down at the girl in his arms and feels something he hasn't ever really felt before. He feels the need to protect her, to keep her safe from all the dangers in his world. She's so naive to shadows lurking around every corner and he wants to keep her safe from them. Raven's pulled from his thought by the annoying giggle that comes from in front of him.

"You really think you've got a shot with her. Ha, don't make me laugh. She's the key to bring peace to our realm and you're nothing but the Captain of The Royal Guard." The fairy says snarkily.

"Nerida, what did I say about being mean to my precious children?" Came a very soothing but powerful voice.

"Mother! I didn't think we would arrive so quickly, please forgive my rudeness." The fairy, now known as Nerida, said apologetically.

"My dear child, you thought you were farther away then you actually were because I wanted to see how you treated one of my precious children and the savior. Remember you may not be the same species, but you are all equal in my eyes." A woman in a leafy green dress wit long curly brown hair sits at the base of The Great Oak which is the heart and soul of the realm. Raven's eyes widen in realization.

"shh, not to loud we shall not wake the young maiden. We still have time before my sister arrives let her sleep a little longer she's going to need all the energy she has for what is about to transpire and you my precious son will have to help and protect her."
