Chapter Fifteen

After hours of trudging through wet foliage Raven and the gang arrive at the entrance to the the Night Kingdom. He pulls Selene closer to his chest and heads towards the nearest inn. He quickly checks into a room and carries Selene there while the familiars and Nixie patrol the perimeter. Raven lays Selene down on the plush king size bed and gently brushes the hair out of her face. Selene nuzzles his hand and sighs in contempt. He gently leans down and softly kisses her forehead and then starts to walk away. Selene whimpers and reaches out, searching for him. Raven gently takes her hand and brings it to his lips, gently brushing his lips against it, Selene smiles in her sleep. Raven reluctantly lets go of her hand and walks out of the room.
Raven exits the inn and walks down the street towards the palace. There is supposed to be a political meeting today between the two kingdoms. In fact he was on his way a bit early to the meeting when he met Selene. He comes to the palace gates and shows the guards the seal on his sword that shows he is the captain of the royal guards for the Day Kingdom. They let him in and he heads towards his assigned corridors, well that was the plan until his future sister-in-law sees him.
Can this day get any worse.

Celeste sees her fiancé's little brother and smirks.
He certainly is the sexier of the two brothers. Too bad daddy wants me to marry the older one. However the bigger issue is who was carrying when he entered the kingdom. That birthmark of hers could cause me a lot of trouble. Well Damian will take care of that problem for me, and he'll enjoy doing it.

Selene's eyes snap open when she hears a door open and close. She looks towards the sound and sees a man she's never see before. He has long blonde hair and icy blue eyes. He's tall but not as tall as Raven.
"Who are you?" Selene questions the strange man.
"I'm Raven's older brother. He sent me here to take care of you." He replies and his voice sends shivers down her spine and not the good shivers either.
"That's a lie. Raven hates his older brother. So what do you want?" She questions suspiciously.
"I have problem that needs to be taken care of, and sadly beautiful, that problem is you." He replies with a creepy smile.
Well I'm screwed.

"Would my brother approve of you and I talking." Raven asks Celeste.
"Damian has no say in what I do, and besides he's got bigger fish to fry at the moment." Celeste says arrogantly.
"What are you planning?" Raven asks suspiciously.
"He's taking care of my competition." Celeste says with a smirk.
"Stay away from her Celeste." Raven says maliciously.
"Too late." She sings.
Raven turns around and bolts back towards the inn.

Selene is panicking, Damian has her arms pinned above her head and her legs trapped under his own, she's terrified.
Raven please come back.
"You are so beautiful. I'm going to enjoy this." Damian says as he kisses her neck. Selene flinches in disgust.
" I bet Raven hasn't done any of this with you. Which will make me your first and your last." He says arrogantly.
"Please don't, please." She begs.
"Sorry beautiful, but I can't do that." He says with a smirk. Suddenly he's ripped off of her and thrown into a wall.

Raven looks down at Selene as she lays in the bed. Her wrists are red and swelling, and the top of her dress is torn. Her cheeks are stained with tears and she's breathing heavily.
"I'm going to kill you." Raven says as he stalks towards his brother.
"She's hot, and she tastes amazing." Damian taunts his brother. Raven slams his fist into Damian's face repeatedly. Damian spits up blood and and slams his head into Raven's. Raven stumbles back and Damian draws his sword and shoves it into Raven's gut.
"Nooooo!!!!!!" Selene screams.

Selene screams as she watches Raven collapse to the floor. Something inside Selene breaks and all hell breaks loose. Her eyes change color, one white, one black. She floats a few feet above the ground with her arms spread palms up. White and black light shoots from the palms of her hand. There's a bright flash then everything goes black.
