Chapter 8 "Dinner and Surprises"

KATH's POV

It's already 6:00 in the evening and I am almost done cooking. I prepared my specialties for tonight's dinner. Pesto cream penne, Chicken flambe , Roast beef and I also baked some Blueberry cheesecake while mom made her specialty Paella.

" Oh anak I am done here.. You need any help? " asked mom as she put some of the cooked food on the table.

" Yes Mom, I am just waiting for the chicken, it's still in the oven... Can you watch it for me. Mag shower lang po ako? " I really need some bath right now.

" Of course go ahead "

" Yaya Rosie, paki set na din yung table please, baka maya maya lang dumating na ang mga bisita. "Mom added.

After an hour I am already showered and my hair was already blow dried, I chose to wear it down tonight. I am wearing a simple peach dress which is above my knee and just my slip ons. I look at myself in the mirror, just a touch of lip gloss and I'm all good.

I wonder where Dominic is. He said he'll be here earlier. Tawagan ko na lang siguro siya.

After four rings he answered his phone.

" Babe.. "

" Hi Babe. Where are you ? Kala ko maaga ka pupunta for the dinner? " I asked him.

I can hear a loud noise on the background. I wonder where he is.

" Sorry babe I can't make it tonight. Bigla kasi kami nagkaroon ng gig. Dito na kami sa bar and.... "

" Dom! Hi... Where are the others? "

Bigla akong may narinig na boses ng babae and I think it was from Arya their vocalist member.

" They are back stage rehearsing.. " he answered.

" Babe. Are you still there?.. "

" Yeah I'm still here. "

I am a little bit disappointed because it's a sudden change of plan, but music is one of his passion and ayoko naman hadlangan yon.

" Dumating na ba bisita niyo? "

" They are not yet here... " I didn't told him na ang bisita namin ngayon gabi ay ang family ni DJ. Ayoko lang na maging issue na naman kay Dom yun. And besides hindi naman makakapunta si Dj.

" I am really sorry babe. I'll make it up to you next time. "

" It's alright. Mamimiss lang kita. "

" I will miss you more.. Oh sige na I have to go na. We still need to set up the instruments. "

" Ok babe.. I lo..... " Hindi ko pa natatapos sasabihin ko when the line was cut.

Hmmmmp.. He sure is busy.

I went downstairs and saw that Tita Karla, Tito Romel and Tita Ana has arrived.

They were all gathered in the living room..

It was Tito Romel who first saw me.
