Chapter 35 " All Honesty "

DJ'S POV

It has been a week after Kath asked for a space. Seven torturing days that I get to see her off from work and followed her until she reached home and I just look at her from afar. Every single day I keep on missing her . I wanted to give her the space that she asked, but I am running out of patience and I want to be with her.

Knock knock

My secretary came in carrying the last report that I asked from her.

" Just put it there Abby, thank you "

Abby: Is there anything else that you need sir before I go?

" No that's everything.. You can go home now. Thank you. "

Abby: By the way there's someone who wants to see you and she's outside. She said her name is Cara. Should I let her in?

Cara?.. What is she doing here?

" Yes Abby just send her in. "

Seconds later I heard the door opened and Cara came in.

Cara: Hi Daniel..

" Hi Cara. What a surprise?.. "

Cara: That's actually my plan, to surprise you! You've been pretty busy..

I resume on checking the reports on my hand while I continue talking to her.

" Yeah.. Work has been hectic. We still need to finalize the budget for next year.... "

Cara: Don't stress yourself too much. Are you done here? Come let's have a dinner. My treat.

I stopped myself from what I was doing and look at her. It's actually almost dinner time and I'm still here in the office.

" No thanks Cara. I'll just probably grab  some on my home. "

Car: Hey... Could you please look at yourself. Burying yourself with all these work... Come on let's go and besides I am coming back to the States soon. Pretty please...

I just released a deep sigh as I gave in to her request.

" Ok ok fine.. Let's go "

We ordered some Japanese food then we headed straight to my place. Half on our meal it slipped from her mouth that she visited Kath last time here on my condominium and even mentioned to her that I gave her a ride home last weekend. So it came from her then. But I don't want to blame her because in the first place it was my fault and she doesn't know anything that has been going on between me and Kath.

Cara: Ok.. Spill! What's bothering you? You are not on your usual self? Is there a problem? Is it Kath?..

Am I really that obvious?.. Of course she's my friend so I told her what happened.

After I told her the side of my story she immidiately stand and went to my liquor cabinet. Yeah I have one at my place just in case the boys want to have a drink or two then we don't have to go out. She grabbed a bottle of wine and silently asked for permission.
