" Dad... We miss you too! When are you going home ba? "
It's a typical Saturday morning and I am just relaxing at home while facetiming with my dad. Yup he's on a long distance relationship with my mom.. He has a position in one of the top company in Canada.
Maybe you're asking why he's there and why we are here in the Philippines..?
Well.. At first mom, wanted me and kuya Kevin to finish our studies before we follow dad and migrate in Canada. But because Mom got too attached on her own business here hindi agad kami nakasunod. It has been normal for us with that kind of set up, with him being there. But once a year umuuwi din naman siya dito to have a vacation. And just 2 years ago we visited him.
" Princess.. Parang hindi mo naman alam schedule ng uwi ko dyan.. I'll be there on Christmas and New Year.. "
" That's still another four months. Mommy misses you so much! And besides your anniversary is near.. What's your plan this time? " I was grinning from ear to ear because I know how Dad get so romantic everytime their anniversary is fast approaching.
" It's a surprise.. "
Aha.. Told you! now this time he won't tell me.
" Now you got me curious here.. " I told him while wiggling my eyebrows up and down..
" Basta malalaman mo din.. Maiba tayo.. How's it going with you and Dom Dom? " he said while changing the topic .
" Dad..... Stop it.. " he sure likes to call Dominic Dom Dom..
" What it's cute.. " he added..
" I know your definition of cute.. Are you still jealous kasi may boyfriend na ang princess mo?.. "
" At first oo naman kasi may boyfriend ka na... Pero knowing na inaalagaan ka niya, then it's fine with me.. " he explained
" Everything's good naman dad.. " I mumbled.
" Oh oh.. Is something wrong? Inaway ka ba niya?! " he suddenly said
" No dad.. It's just a petty quarrel pero ok na naman kami "
" Well that's good. Basta princess all I want is for you to be happy. If he'll do something wrong to you hindi ako mag dadalawang isip na umuwi diyan! "
" Yes my King " I said to him..
That's how my relationship with dad goes.. Until now we are close to one another. Even though he's far away, the communication is still there. Now I miss him more.
" Oh can I talk to my Queen now Princess? " that's the signal that our time's up..
" Alright Dad.. I miss you and I love you. You take care ok?.. " while giving him a flying kiss on the screen.
" I love you too.. I have to call your mom "
" Ok bye dad.. "
I ended up the call and decided to go out. It's a beautiful day might as well enjoy it.
" Mom! I'll just walk the dog.. " I called out to mom.
" Ok anak.. Maybe you want to come with me later to do some grocery shopping. We have visitors coming over for dinner. " She said while putting dad on hold.
" Sure Mom. Wala naman akong pupuntahan. Can I invite Dominic? "
" Oo naman .. "
" Great! Ok have to go na muna. We'll be back asap. " I added.
I bring Cloud with me, our golden retriever.
We were walking down the street when a car stopped before us. Nagulat ako ng nakita ko kung sino ang nakasakay.
" Tita Karla?.. "
" Hi Kath! I knew it was you! " she said to me while going out of the car.
" How are you? Look at you! You're so pretty.. " she exclaimed while giving me a hug and a peck on the cheek.
" Ayyyyyy .. Thank you po.. I am good naman po tita.. Kayo po kamusta? "
" Pretty good. Eto Balikbayan ulit. Mahilig ka pa din sa dog I can see.. " she said while giving Cloud a pat on the head.
" Opo naalala niyo pa po pala.. Hehe "
" Oo naman.. Di ba nga binigyan ka pa ni DJ ng dog before, a golden retriever correct? "
" Actually Tita.. Siya po yun si Cloud. " sabi ko while pointing to my dog.
Her expression was in awe upon hearing what I just said.
"Really? Tignan mo nga naman ang laki na niya .. Nako matutuwa niyan si DJ pag nakita niya si Cloud! "
She did just clapped her hands. Same old Tita Karla , so down to earth.
" Oo nga pala I saw your mom the other day and she invited us for a dinner at your place tonight..! "
What?! Did I hear her right? Dinner? On our place? Toooooonight???!!!!! Why did mom never tell me about it? Oh.. They are the visitors that mom was talking about!
MOM!!!!!! You're going to give me a heart attack at a very young age!
" That's great tita. Sino sino po kayo mamaya? " while praying at the back of my mind na sana hindi muna siya kasama. I don't know if I am ready to face him again.
" It's me, Romel and Ana. Jordan and DJ can't come tonight may party daw silang pupuntahan. "
Didn't I just said I'm hoping na sana hindi muna siya pumunta? Pero why am I disappointed?..
" Ganun po ba Tita.. O Sige po we'll wait for you.. I'll prapare one of my specialty. "
" Wow! I can't wait. Oh sige na Kath I have to go may pupuntahan pa kasi ako. I'll see you later ha. "
Nag paalam na din ako sa kanya. Then she drove off..
I was remain rooted on my spot. Then I felt a gentle thug ..
Arfffff! Arffffff! Arffff!..
" Yes Cloud did you hear that?.. "
Arfffff! Arfffff! ...
" You'll meet him again pretty soon I guess... But for now.. We need to go back. "
We got back to the house and prepared myself. It's going to be a long day today......
