Damon and I talked every night; we would laugh, and discuss senseless things, I was beginning to feel comfortable with him, and with each passing day, I felt myself falling for him more and more.
When Saturday came around, I had to admit that I was really excited. I haven’t been to a proper wedding in a long time, so this was going to be an experience. The wedding was at three o’ clock, so Damon’s Mom was going to be picking me up at two thirty.
At twelve, I decided I was going to start getting dressed. I took a shower, blow-dried my hair, and curled it into loose ringlets. I applied a little more make-up than usual make-up; black eyeliner, mascara, and sparkly pink lip gloss. Finally, I put on the dress, it fit me perfectly, hugging my waist carefully, and flowing elegantly. I grabbed a pair of strappy, black heels, and by one thirty, I was ready to go.
I knew I still had an hour to kill, so I did what I normally did; went on the Internet. I browsed through Tumblr, and watched a few YouTube videos, when suddenly, there was a knock at the door. My aunt answered it, and called my name to tell me that Damon was here. Instantly, my heart began racing, but I managed to pull myself together, and walk down the stairs.
Damon was standing in the doorway, dressed in a tux that made him look really good. Once I finally came into view, his mouth dropped, and I was hoping that was a good sign.
“Hi Damon,” I greeted as I began getting closer to him.
“Hi, Skip, you look…stunning.”
“Thank you.”
I blushed as Damon called me stunning. For once, I actually felt pretty. I turned to my aunt, and gave her a hug as we said our goodbyes. I turned to Damon, who held out his arm, which I happily took, and guided me to his Mom’s car. We both got into the back seat, and Damon’s Mom smiled at me. I smiled back at her.
“Hi Skip, it’s so nice to finally meet Damon’s girlfriend.” She chirped happily. I blushed madly, did she actually think we were dating?
“Mom, I already told you, she is not my girlfriend.”
“Oh really? I’m sorry, my bad,” Damon’s mom apologized. “It is a shame, Damon, she is rather pretty.”
“Thank you,” I said.
“You’re very welcome. You know, when Damon was telling me about you, he didn’t describe you as half as pretty as you actually are.”
“Oh really?” I asked, raising an eyebrow at Damon jokingly. Did Damon actually talk to his Mom about me?
“Okay Mom, that’s enough.” Damon said embarrassed.
I giggled as Damon said this, he was adorable when he was flustered.
“It’s true,” she laughed, taking notice of the embarrassed Damon. I put my hand over my mouth, trying hard not to laugh.
The rest of the car ride was filled with mindless talking. I told his Mom about myself; where I came from, what I liked to do, and she told me some embarrassing stories about Damon, only earning an annoyed glance, or a frustrated sigh from him.
We finally arrived at the venue that the wedding was being held. The ceremony was going to be taking place in a garden. It was really pretty, the chairs were white with pink ribbons, with a variety of pink flowers decorating it.
Damon took me by the arm, and I blushed, as we walked in to take our seats. We waited for the ceremony start, making pointless remarks, and laughing like we always did.
When the bride began her walk down the aisle, everybody stood up. I noticed that her dress was very elegant, and I liked it a lot. The ritual was formal, but it was also very nice. I haven’t been to a wedding in forever!
