Avi's P.O.V.

As expected, the next day is quite boring. I work on some music in the morning, do some laundry to have everything ready for the tour. I have the house to myself, because Kevin is spending the next two nights with Alyssa. I clean a little bit in the afternoon but in the end it's just another day.

Mitch doesn't get in touch with me about our little friend-date and I don't either. Mitch told me he'd be busy today and I don't want to interrupt whatever he's up to. And after all he told me he would text me and we'll figure something out. He will probably text me in the morning.

That he does. Well it was rather in the middle of the night but I get the text when I wake up the next morning.

Mitch: Hey, Daddy. Usually I'm not the one to invite myself but Scott wants to do dinner with Alex at our apartment tomorrow. Movie night at yours?

Reading this message directly puts a smile on my face. Movie night sounds amazing to me. I quickly text him back, inviting him officially and offer to prepare some dinner. I don't expect him to answer instantly so I get up and under the shower. Breakfast comes afterwards and then I'm ready for the day.

Mitch had texted back and confirmed my dinner plans so I actually needed to head out to the store. I settle for something simple, pasta, gluten free of course, with homemade pesto. After all this is just a friendship-date and I don't want it to seem as if I'm trying too hard. I buy the ingredients together with some chocolate and two bottles of Chardonnay. I'm not planning on getting him drunk but I know how much he likes a glass of wine.

Back at home I realise that I actually have quite some time left and nothing to do so I call my Mum. Haven't heard from her in a long time and I feel like talking to her for a bit, just to hear how life at home is going and bring her up-to-date about my life here in LA.

As always she asks me about a possible girlfriend. Ever since Esther and Darien had gotten married she randomly started asking. And while it's utterly sweet of her to do so, it gets annoying because I'm not interested in dating at the moment. Not with tour starting and me being constantly on the road for a good couple of weeks. Thankfully that is an excuse she accepts without asking.

After a long talk to both her and Dad who came home just as we were about to hang up, I really need to start to prepare the food or I won't be finished when Mitch arrives.

While I'm in the kitchen roasting the pine nuts for the pesto and grating the cheese the doorbell rings. Consciously I pull the pan from the stove so the pine nuts won't burn and make my way to the front door. I'm not expecting anyone besides Mitch and he's only coming an hour from now.

When I open the door, however, I see said slender man standing in front of me holding his bag in one hand and a bottle of wine in the other. My heart jumps when I see him and I don't really understand why.

"Sorry Avi, but I had to leave earlier. Big date night before tour, you know?" He greets me with a slightly shy smile.

"Never mind. I just started preparing dinner. Come in" I say friendly and hug him before leading him into the kitchen.

"Mmhm, already smells delicious. What are we having?" Mitch asks and looks at the ingredients on the counter, quickly stealing a bit of the grated cheese.

I smile brightly when I see this remembering how much he loves cheese. "Homemade pesto" I then return. "Those are only the pine nuts."

"Great! Can I help you somehow?"

"Not really, there's not much left to do. Just make yourself at home. Water is in the fridge if you want some." I get back to work and start boiling the pasta while putting the ingredients for the pesto into the blender.
