I entered the room that Opal called me from. "Oh great!" she shouted. I cleared my throat to get her attention. Opal turned her head quickly with her pointer finger casually placed in her mouth. She shrunk down slightly and looked somewhat guilty. I tilted my head to the side as if to ask her what was wrong. "I got blood on the dress." Opal mumbled, guilt showing clear in her voice. I giggled at her childish behavior. "I'm sure it's fine. Lets take a look." I assured her.
I walked over to kneel down beside Opal. There was a speck of red on the fabric. I giggled again. "There is barely anything there, Opal. And this is just the lining of the dress, isn't it?" I ran my fingers over the silky fabric. "Yeah... So?" Opal asked. "So, no one is going to notice. I can barely notice it now and you haven't even finished." I told her. "How did you manage to get blood on it anyway?" I asked her, running my forefinger over the stain. "I pricked my finger. With the needle ." She was acting so cute, I couldn't help but giggle a last time.
"Also, this dress need to be perfect!" Opal shouted, throwing her hands up in frustration. "Well, if your really that worried about it..." I trailed off, moving over to her work table. I picked up and newly sharpened needle and some silk thread that almost looked translucent. "Perfect." I whispered to myself.
I walked back over to the dress and Opal scooched over slightly with her eyes wide. I pent down and started to work at the fabric. I could feel Opals eyes on me as I worked. She crawled over on all fours to sit next to me and watch me work.
"Why are you her?" Opal asked. I stopped and looked at her. She was starring at my hands and refusing to look me in the eyes.
"I ask myself that every minute. I'm trying to get home and I'm trying to find my family." I explained to her.
"Theres more of you?!" She asked surprised.
"Y-yeah. Have you ever met a human, Opal?" I asked her, turning my head to work again.
"Of course not. Humans are not allowed in these woods. I'm quite surprised that you haven't been killed yet, Cam." She stopped for a second to laugh. I continued to listen, but at this point I was almost scared too. "Humans are sometimes drawn in by the Nightmares, but i've only found them dead or seen them run by the hut. There valuable live stack to the Nightmares and some other creatures of the woods, so they never survive long here." By the time she finished, I had finished as well with the stain. I was also almost shaking in fear.
"I need to fit you. will you please undress." Opal asked, looking at me expectingly. My eyes widened and I blushed at her order. I brought my arms up to cover my chest. Opal starred at me in confusion. "Well, go on. We don't have all day." She seemed so casual about the situation. Then it came t realization that she probably wasn't as... Shy about undressing in front of someone else.
I stood up and took the dress off of the form. "Why don't I go dress in here." I told her, nodding towards a door that was open slightly that I could make out a full length mirror. Opal shrugged and nodded in approval. "If you want."
I smiled and walked into the small room. I closed the door behind me, locking it because, you know, I don't know how much these girls know about privacy.
I turn and look in the mirror. My hair I'm a mess. I take the ponytail out that I've been wearing. With a few shakes of my head, my hair is free. It's long and a nice almond brown. It's curly, but the kind of curls that are pretty big and is different each time. My hair is over boob length too, so pretty long.
I undress, than step into my new one. It fits like a glove.
Literally.
When I stepped in I noticed there were no buttons or zippers, but still slid off my narrow shoulders and bulged out from my hips. But than it tightened, all by its self. It fight perfectly, but when a dress fits perfects on the body it's going to be impossible to take off without any buttons of zippers!
I start to claw at the skin tight dress. I haven't even gotten a chance to look in the mirror. Than, the dress loosens and I can easily fit it over my body to take I off. I rearrange the dress and stare in the mirror.
The dress magically melds to my body perfectly. I stare in the mirror. It's beautiful. The dress is black with a white collar and at the end of the sleeves and the bottom of the dress. The sleeves rest on my shoulders, not flatly but a bit upward. The upper body part melds wonderful and ends at my waist. From there on the dress falls loosely. I know exactly what this means.
I step out of the small room to get a better experience. It one big leap I begin to twirl around the room. I giggle and spin. I feel amazing! The dress twirls better than anything I've ever seen! It's magical!
"Ahem!" I stop in my tracks, which ends up being the ending of a occurring leap. I fall on my butt, lucky with nothing in the lower region being shown.
I look up and see Opal with a large grin on her face. There is standing someone next to her so my eyes wonder up to the other person.
Alex.
He's staring at me with the most bashful look on his face. His mouth hung agape and is eyes were wide and sparkling.
I blush and look down. Smoothing out the dress while standing.
"Sorry. I got a bit carried away." I giggle. "I'm not a big dress girl. Whenever my mom took me dress shopping I'd only wore the ones that twirled. They made me feel like a princess." I confess.
"You look beautiful." Alex chokes out. He blushes at what he said and looks away. I smile and giggle as a thank you.
"And there is no way you never will!" Opal shouts, clasping her hands together.
I look at her, looking for more of an explanation.
"This is a magical dress if you haven't already figured out. If it is torn, it with regenerate and look as good as new. It's a difficult spell but I like you so I thought why not!" Opal winks at me.
I run up to her and hug her tall slender body. "Thank you Opal! Thank you so much!" I squeeze her.
"You're welcome, sweetheart."
