As math class began, I pulled out one of my books and began reading under my desk. Math was only an hour. I could make it, even if I was surrounded by absolute idiots the entire time I was in there.

"I hate these packets!" One of the girls shouted. I sighed. I might have hated math class, but that didn't mean that I didn't do the work. I had done the entire packet at my house anyway - not because I wanted to, but because my parents said that I was grounded until I did. If the teacher came over, then I could show them the completed math packet. And if that teacher had more work for me, then I was going to lose it.

I went back to my book, trying to lose myself in a flurry of words and pages. But I couldn't. It was like my mind wouldn't let me. It was restless. I was restless. I glanced at the page number of my book, then closed the book and set it in my desk. Maybe I could get one of those school laptops and see if those unblocked games were actually fun. Still, it was obvious that I couldn't read in there. Probably because it was so loud. Yeah, that was probably it.

I grabbed one of the school laptops from the cart and logged in. Double tapping the Google chrome icon, I waited for the page to load. When it did, I typed in the phrase 'unblocked games' and clicked on the first link to show up. I played one of the games for five minutes before sighing. "This is boring," I muttered before looking up fanart.

The fanart, however, did keep me entertained. In fact, it kept me distracted to the point where I didn't know - didn't realize - what was happening to me. I really wished that I had been more focused, because then I would've had known what was going on.

The end of class soon came, and I shut off my laptop before sliding it into the cart. I grabbed my stack of stuff and began heading down the hallway. It was like I couldn't walk correctly. My balance was all off, like my body wanted me to walk on all fours. At one point, I decided to look down at my feet and legs to see just what was going on.

And then I screamed. It sounded less like a scream and more like an animalistic cry of pain. I ended up dropping all of my things to the floor as I landed on paws. Tan furred paws. I heard a cracking noise as... Something, changed shape. And of course, while this was all happening, the hallway had turned from organized chaos to chaotic chaos, if that makes  any sense. Putting it simpler; Whatever organization there was quickly left.

I was changing, though. I could feel it in every fiber of my body, and it burned. Every single part of me burned like it had been set alight. I shut my eyes as it finished, and thankfully, the pain left. But what was left was panic. I had no idea what had just happened, other than the fact that I had been human, and I had suddenly transformed into a lion. Well, lioness if you want to get specific, but neither way, I was still a cat!

Panic took over as I bursted through hallways, not caring who was in my way. I was scared, and I was confused, and there was no time for saying 'sorry' or 'excuse me'. I needed to get out. I could see the exit. It was so close. All I had to do was take a few more bounding leaps and I'd be free. I'd be safe, and I'd be free, and I'd be out of that cramped school, where people were as densely packed as sardines.

But the door was locked. It was locked shut, and I didn't have fingers anymore. So I was trapped inside the school building, with no way out. I could hear the sound of the teachers shouting above the chaos. They were trying to get the students to go and hide... To go and hide from me. Seriously? If anybody was scared, it was me. Did they have any idea what I had just gone through less than five minutes ago? I had turned into a flipping lion! And they were scared? I may have looked deadly but in reality, I was scared.

I broke into a run, and didn't step on anybody's face that time. I needed to find an exit before I lost it and broke a window. I searched for an exit for a while, a good few minutes. That was before I heard a large bang, and before everything went bad. I heard large footsteps, and I heard whispering. My blood stilled as a realization dawned upon me - they were looking for me - and I rushed to go and hide. The closest room was the science classroom, and I ducked in there, looking for somewhere to hide myself.

The footsteps got closer still, and I became frantic as I tried to find a place where they wouldn't see me. They were going to come into the science room. I didn't know who they were, or what their intentions were, but my gut feeling was to stay away from them. My gut was probably going to be right. I heard them get closer with keen ears, and I ducked under a row of desks, trying to be as still as possible. It was a tight squeeze, but I made it.

They walked into the room. The room was dark, except for the light let in by the open door. Their silhouettes were all that could be seen of them, which naturally made them even more menacing. They drew near, and it looked like they were focused on me, and that was because they were.

One of them bent down and looked me in the eyes. "Found you."
