Chapter 18:Party
Song: Little Bit by Drake
Jalenas pov
The Game was so exciting. The crowd was so hyped, teens screaming, laughing, and carrying on. I had to give it up for the cheerleaders. They really knew how to get a crowd into the spirit of the game. I even found myself answering to their cheer calls.
“When I say Go! You say Fight!
“Go! Fight!”
“Go! Fight!”
“When I say Win! You say Tonight!”
“Win! Tonight!”
“Win! Tonight!”
The parents were even singing along, and act wild and crazy. My mom and dad were there too, sitting next to my friends, parents. I glanced over at my mom to see her sitting next to Justin’s mom. They seem to be getting along splendidly. I just hope my mom didn’t say anything to embarrass me. She has way of doing that, telling all my business. Especially since she cornered me one day when she noticed I was acting different. I tired to keep it cool, and act normal, like nothing was going on, but like that scene in Cinderella, when they found out the Prince was looking for her, and that the Duke was coming with the glass slipper to see who fits it… yeah I was pretty much wondering around the house like that… a love sick zombie.
Krista and Becca had been over my house practicing that day my mom had took notice we had been discussing all our favorite things about our boy of choice. So with that list floating in my head…his smile, his hair, his dimple, his voice, his hands, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera… You can imagine how out of it I was looking. So that had lead to the question “Lena Baby what is going on with you? You sure are acting different.”
“I… um… nothing why?” My heart started to pound in my ears. I was so not good at hiding things from my parents. One time Bree asked me to lie for her when she snuck out of the house to be with that asshole of a boyfriend. My mom put that look on me… it was the look of death I swear. So when she stopped cooking and put her hand on her hip, and gave me a look that pretty much said ‘you know your going to tell me anyway.’ I couldn’t hold back, I spilled like there was no tomorrow. “I, uh… well I have a huge big time crush on this guy, who I think feels the same way.” I had told her all about him, who he was, all of it, just like I told Bree. Except for the kissing and make out stuff, I wasn’t that stupid, some things moms should not know yet, especially on that level. Her reaction was not what I expected at all.
“Oh! Thank God! Lena that is wonderful.” My mouth dropped open. “Girl your father and I were worried there for a minute. We thought you might be gay or lesbian, not that we wouldn’t love you if you were we just… just well you know… Well, that clears things up big time… Soo have you kissed him yet?”
“Mom!” My mouth dropped open further.
“Ooh, I get it… I have got to get to Bree you guys tell each other everything. I know you wont tell me the juicy details, but she will.” I couldn’t believe her, but she was right Bree loved to gossip.
“Mom!”
“He sure is fine, I saw him the other day leaving for school in that truck you think you’re going to get someday! Hmm so you like vanilla huh?”
“Mom! Oh my, gosh! Stop please!” She had told me she really liked their family and that they were going to meet up at the game to watch us all do our thing. She said now she really had some stuff to talk about with Mrs. Anderson.
