Chapter 17: Friday

Song: 9 Crimes By Damien Rice

 Jalena’s Pov

It was finally Friday, thank goodness. After the week I had, I deserved my two days of freedom. I don’t think my nerves could handle anymore of this school week. They needed a break to regroup. My heart as well...

I was sitting in my last period class waiting on the substitute teacher for Mr. Taylor to finish the roll. Coach Taylor couldn’t be there because he was getting the football players set up for the rep rally. I was glad the boys were gone. They were starting to work on my nerves. Becca was right they are a bunch of pains in the Ass… fine pains in the Ass but pains in the Ass none-the-less. They were like guard dogs. One time we were walking to class and they were right on our heels. I had something I wanted to tell the girls in private. I actually turned around and put my hand out and told them to stay. I even called them good boys, because just like well-trained dogs they stayed put.

This had been a week of pure teenage hormonal strength testing. Not to mention temper testing too… I wanted to scream from the frustration of it all. I’m not a very patient person when I want something, I don’t like to wait too long get it. And this whole J&J Sure Thing Plan was testing my patience. Krista said this would take time, and she predicted, no longer than the party that meant 3 days I had to wait.

She said the guys had something in mind for that, some kind of plan that would drive him to the edge. She also said I already had him wrapped around my finger and, that I need not to worry. But if I did, then why was he still with that pom pom gilr? I wanted him to be more than just wrapped around my fingers. I wanted him wrapped around my arms, my legs, my whole entire body and soul… Patience…yeah, I know nothing about that.

Becca called it though, with Justin’s stubbornness.  He would be like two different people. At school he would be aloof and practically ignore me, especially when his cheerleader was near, who mind you stuck to him like super-duper-glue. I would always feel his eyes on me though as if he was watching my every move.  Some would probably call that stalker-ish but I found it sexy as hell. I loved when he stared at me that smoldering look he would give me didn’t say to me “I’m gonna follow you home duck tape your mouth and shove you in a closet.” It was more like a caress the way he would glance my way in the school halls, and at lunch or in class. His eyes held so much promise. I couldn’t wait for him to get rid of Stacey he deserved so much more.

After school he would be a total charmer flirty, and fun to talk to. We would talk and text each other in the late hours of the night. I would be lying on my bed at night, then get a funny text from him and, then we’d go back and forth all night till my mom or dad would fine me on the phone.  We never talked about what happened that night in the Studio though. Every time I started to bring it up to him he would change the subject or if we were texting he would say ‘chat with you tomorrow Lena, sweet dreams.’

My flirting with Sam was paying off even though I really didn’t have to do much to get Sam’s attention. He would somehow always be near by with him doing most of the flirting. Whenever Sam would come up and talk to me, Justin would get stone face mad, and would act like he’d want to beat the crap out him. Like today after an interesting and blush worthy lunch period. We accomplished part of our plan, well I should say I accomplished, of course Becca and Krista had a hand in it too. And oh what a plan…

One day after school the girls I went through my clothes to find an outfit that would make him go nuts. His favorite color being red we went though all the red clothing I had. Krista got word from Niko that Justin had told the guys the other day that he just goes crazy when I’m near him, that he loves the way I smell… like cherries, one of his favorite fruits and that he loves when I wear read.  It was fun tearing up my closet with them. I’ve always wanted to have bosom friends just like Anne of Green Gables. Made my family happy too. I was kind of a loner in my other school, so having friends over got them a little excited. Mom would bake cookies and make us snacks and stuff like we were five. She even had the nerve to buy juice boxes. I was like mom really?  If Dad were there, home from work he would pull out some of his computer gadgets and show them off. But the girls didn’t mind they loved being at my house too. Becca hated being at home with her sister, and Krista thinks her moms insane so they would rather hang at my house. My sister liked them too. She would come hang out with us a little before she had to go study or felt the need to go on one of her drives. Drives that would have her smelling like the beach when she came back from one.
