"Where were you? I thought you were with your brother." Laura mom had said to her hours later.
"Mom Caleb took me out. Well he dropped me off. Then he left. He had to get ready for his cabin trip." Laura said deciding not to expose her brother lie of a trip.
"Did you ask me could you go out? I would assume you would have stayed with your brother now look what has happened." Laura mom said pointing to her very first son, only son laying on the bed literally unconscious.
"Mom Caleb getting into a wreck was not my fault." Laura pointed out.
"Laura leave." Her mom ordered her.
"Caleb is my brother." Laura pointed out.
She was very hurt.
"Well he is also my first son and only son." Laura mom pointed out.
Laura started to cry and started to walk out the room.
Tyonnia stood from the chair she was patiently waiting in.
"Laura wait." Tyonnia stated.
Laura stopped.
"I never mean no disrespect to either of you." Tyonnia said turning towards Laura's parents. "But Mrs. for you to sit her and blame your daughter is way out of line. I look at both of you as my second pair of parents. Laura didn't know anything about her brother in a wreck. Whenever you called me that is when I told her. Don't talk to her like she is less of a child of both of you because your oldest is in harm. Caleb loves her and you both love him and we all love Caleb. We have to stick together if we are going to get through this. Our hearts are heavy and neither of us standing in this room right now has the energy to argue and fight and point and call names. I sure don't. I'm worried about Caleb and only Caleb. Now if you excuse me I need something to drink." Tyonnia said whipping her face and leaving the room.
Laura sobbed and sat down in the seat Tyonnia was sitting in earlier.
Laura mom reassured herself and sat down also rubbing her sons hand gently.
"Come on Caleb." Laura mom whispered to her son.
At that very moment the monster started to beep quickly shocking Laura and her parents both.
"Doctor! Help!" Laura and her dad started shouting.
Meanwhile Laura mom backing into a wall and dropping to a floor in tears, covering her face.
A group of nurses and doctors appeared rushing them all out of the room.
Not even seconds later they were rushing her brother out.
A doctor with pretty black hair and colored green eyes came towards them.
"Your son needs surgery sir. We need permission to go ahead into the ER, like right now." The doctor stated.
"Surgery?" Laura dad asked.
Laura looked at the doctors name tag.
Dr. Grain.
"We don't have time to process it sir. We honestly have to go into surgery right now if not your son might not live." Dr. Grain stated.
Laura dad looked back at his wife.
Then back at Dr. Grain.
"Go ahead." Laura dad nodded.
Dr. Grain disappeared in seconds.
Laura dad turned around and looked at her.
"Go ahead." He whispered more to himself than to her.
