Louis was right.

His dad is a pain in the you know where, Laura thought to herself.

"So what's your future plans? You're main course career?" He asked.

Laughed sighed but lowly so only she could hear it.

Louis dad had sent Louis off to get something upstairs.

"Honestly I don't know. I have a lot of main paths I want to take." Laura said honestly.

Louis dad snorted at her and laughed at little.

He was basically insulting her in her face.

Laura face grew red.

"I don't find that funny at all." Laura pointed out, redder than ever.

"I do. Kids like you never make it to succeession. You're all about doing what's right just to get by." Louis dad laughed.

Louis walked in as his dad was talking.

Louis heard enough to know what was happening.

"Dad!" He shouted.

"What son? No need to hide the truth from such a small soul like her." He laughed.

Laura started playing with her fingers and counting backwards from ten in her head.

"What truth? That just because you have money you believe you have succeeded?!" Louis said putting the box his dad told him to get on the table.

"Of course I have succeeded and will not yell at me in my own house or ever so lower your tone Mr!" Louis dad shouted back him.

Laura stood.

She took a deep breath.

What would Tyonnia do?

Was the question swimming her head.

Her best friend wasn't just her best friend sometimes in most situations a hero and a role model.

"Mr I'm sorry if you believe I am a failure because I like to have more than one thing to fall back on in the future. I'm sorry that I'm not rich as you or your son. But one thing for sure I am not poor. My parents make things happen. We don't depend on money to make our life complete not now and never in the future. As long as I have shies, clothes, an education, my true friends and family I am happy! My future is bright, brighter than any diamond any light any bright thing you can buy with your money. I don't mean any disrespect from any of this. It was nice meeting you, have a nice day." Laura said to Louis dad.

She turned to Louis. "Your dad is right. You should never talk to an elder in a heated tone. Respect your elders." Laura said to Louis.

She walked until she found the front door and went outside.

She sat in the car all by herself.

She sat out there for nearly twenty minutes until Louis came walking out of the front door.

His dad was with him.

When they reached the car Louis dad came to the passenger side to where Laura sat waiting to be took back to her safe dorm room.

"Laura I need to apologize." Louis dad began.

"Needing and wanting is two very different things." Laura pointed out.

Louis dad stopped.

"I want to apologize." He corrected himself.

"I just want the best for my son. Just like any other parent. I apologize for my behavior." Louis dad apologize.

Laura thought it over. Then looked at Louis dad.

"Who said I was dating your son?" She asked.

"I saw the way you two walked in the house standing very close to each other. A father knows all." Louis dad smirk grew on his face.

Laura smile grew big until she busted into laughter.

"Well we aren't dating." Laura said to him.

"Not yet." Louis dad winked.

Louis dad held out a fist pump.

Laura looked at it and finally fist bumped him.

They laughed.

Louis walked up.

"Was I not included in this conversation?" Louis asked smiling.

Laura and his dad looked at each other and busted into more laughing.

Louis looked at them and realized he wasn't wanted in the conversation and slowly backed away.

You'll never be wanted for everything. Just selective few.
