Chapter 12

When I got home I tried to study some more but my mind wouldn't just concentrate. Emily walked in the front door with Jake.

“Erin what's the matter? Why are walking around the room in circles?”

I didn't even realize I was doing that. I can't stop thinking about would Dan try to fight for Alison.

“Em I saw Dan today. He seen Alison and realized she was he's. I can't stop freaking out.”

“ It will be all right babe, I think it's the time to tell him. He deserves to know. Call him and arrange to see him tonight, I'll mind Alison.”

“ You are right, thanks Emily you're the best.”

I called Dan he answered on the first ring. It's almost he was expecting for me to call.

“Hello?”

“Dan, we need to talk, can I see you tonight?” I said anxiously

“Sure Come to my place for six.”

“Alright I'll see you then. Bye.”

“Like wise, Goodbye Erin.” I am freaking out inside, I am afraid what's going to happen. I went and had a shower and got dressed in a pair of jeans and a T-shirt.

I arrived at Dan's at 5:57, I parked my car and I walked up to the door, I was about to knock, but Dan opened the door before I got a chance to.

“Erin please come in.”

I walked into his house, it's not much different since I've been here last the walls are different colour, but everything else seems to be the same.

“Please take a sit.” murmurs Dan as he points to the couch.

“Would you like a cup of tea or something?”

“No thank you.”

Dan sits in the arm chair across from me. He seems happy but his eyes looks to be a bit sad.

“Dan before you say anything can I say something first?” I mumbled shyly

“Of course Erin, pleased proceed.”

“First of all, I had fallen in love with you, when I realized I was carrying your child I was terrified. I was afraid of many things. I was afraid that I would end up like my mom, a bad parent. I was afraid that if I told you, that you'll leave me. I was afraid it got out you would lose your job and possible jail. Breaking up with you was the hardest thing I had to do. It broke me in two, but I did it because I cared for you to risk everything for me. I was young and scared and I'm sorry I kept that from you.”

Dan is unreadable, I wonder what he is thinking. What is he going to do.

“You were in love with me? Erin you would never be like your mom, you are the completely different to your mother. I wouldn't have left you, I was too crazy about you to leave you, I was in love with you. That's thoughtful of you to care about my career, but I can handle it. “ Dan's response was unexpected, but then yet again I was thinking of the worse possibilities.

“Yes I was, I haven't been with anyone since us. Well thank you, but her genes will always be in me. Speaking of my mother I have something say about her. She called to my house the other day, she saw Alison and she wants to be apart of Alison's life I don't know what to do. As Alison's father what do you think?Really that's sweet. I know sorry. “ I murmur

Dan looks to be unsure. He has his hand cupped around his chin. He is very hard to read. “Oh can you give some time think about the decision of your mother?”

“Yeah of course, it's a hard choice I know that's why I can't make it on my own. I guessing you want to apart of Alison's life. I have my exams coming up next week and on the night we finished them Emily and I and some others are planning on going out. If you like can babysit Alison to get to know her?”

Dan's face lit up, he seem happy with what I just suggested.

“Really? I'll be delighted to mind Alison.”

“Okay I'll text you my address later. I better be going Emily expecting me. Bye.”

“Okay see you soon.”

Next Friday, the exams are over. Emily and I are getting ready to go out. I am wearing short and puffy black cocktail dress. Emily is wearing a purple cocktail dress. Seven O' clock Dan knocks on the door, Alison answered.

“Mommy is getting ready. What's your name? You mommy's friend?”

Dan chuckled. “Oh Alright may I come in? I'm Dan. Yes.”

I heard Dan talking to Alison and darted to the door. “Alison you know the rule when someone calls to the door you call me.”

“Oh Dan please come in.”

“Alison this is Dan he'll be minding you to night. So be good. Be a good girl and get into your Pj's “

Alison went off to her room to get changed. Dan and I went into the living room where I told him to make himself comfortable.

“Would you like anything?”

“No thank you.”

“Feel free to help yourself at anytime. Alison's bedtime is eight but you can let her stay until eight thirty. I am going to head now bye.”

“Okay thanks and enjoy yourself.”

“Thanks.”

In the night club Emily and I met up with a few other mates. We sat at a table for a while drinking and talking about what we are doing with our lives. Emily and I went to the bar where we took shots and had drinking contest. We went out on the dance floor and danced. The Dj was awesome. The bar man came up to me with a drink saying someone ordered it for me. I drank it. It was nice.

I called a taxis home. Emily is going to Darren's tonight. When I came into the house Alison was asleep and Dan was watching TV. I was walking all over the place. I sat beside Dan. Dan just looked at me. “Are you drunk?”

“No way, I thinks it's you.”

“Okay you are drunk. “

I moved in on Dan and laid my head on his shoulder. “ You're so hot. I want you.” I mumbled

“I think you need to sleep. You are really drunk.”

I woke up the next morning in my own bed. I don't remember going to bed last night. I lifted the bed covers off me, to find myself in a T-shirt and my underwear. Wait please don't tell me he em.. Oh God I bet he did. I hear Alison talking. I got up and went into the kitchen to find Dan cooking breakfast.

“Did you stay here last night?”

"Yes, you were really drunk. I slept on the couch.”

“You didn't have to. You could have slept in the guess bed, it is much better.”

“I wasn't leaving you like that. Oh it was grand.” murmur Dan.

“Well that was very nice of you.”

After breakfast Alison was playing in her room. I was in the living room with Dan.

“Do you think it is time to tell Alison that you are her dad?” I mumbled

“She is a nice kid, I am sure it would be fine.”

I called Alison into the living room. “Alison we have something to tell you.”

“What mommy?”

“Dan here is your dad.”

Alison's face froze and then lit up.

“So I have a daddy?”

“Yes”

Alison went and hugged Dan. “Are going to marry my mom?”

 Both Dan and I just froze.
