Chapter 11

It was strange living in my own house, it was not I expected when I was a kid. When I was kid I thought when I got older and had to move out, I wouldn't want to leave my parents. I guess life changes and shit happens.

I glad I am living with my best friend; I didn't think one of Emily's childhood dreams would happen. I just wish my child's hopes and dreams come true. I hope he or she will grow up to be successful in life.

Emily and I went to the hospital for a checkup. They put a gel on my stomach, it was really cold. Within minutes I saw my child on the screen,I wasn't formed like baby, but you can see something. I felt happy but scared. Emily held my hand during this, she even seemed happy to see the baby. This pregnancy is very hard between the hunger craves and the tiredness.

5 years later... I had given birth to a little girl and I named her Alison. I was not easy raising a kid and trying to pull off college at the same time. I went to college a year later. I got all my points required for medical care.

Emily helped me raise Alison, during that period of time; Emily helping raise a kid she found a boyfriend and also had a kid in fact two well the second one is on his way. She had a boy and called him Jake. I was the Godmother like she was Alison's Godmother.

Emily Spoils Alison. Alison even calls her Aunty Emily. Alison has started school; I am on my last year of college.

I hadn't seen Dan in 5 years, he still doesn't know about Alison. I think it is for the best, it would just complicated things at the moment. Alison has not asked about her father, I know soon in time she will and I will tell her.

You can see Dan in Alison; she has his deep blue eyes and his nose. She has chocolate brown wavy hair a bit like mine. She has the most beautiful smile.

It was rainy day, I got a knock on my door, I opened the door and I just froze. It was my mother...

"How did you find me?"

"Long story..."

I hadn't heard from my mom for at least six years. I never went back after her beating me and refusing to see me in hospital when I was hit by that car. She doesn't evening know she is a granny. For all I knew she was out of my life for good.

"Why did you come here? I hadn't heard from in six years." I said hissing at her

"I am sorry, for what I did to you. I am sorry for the times I bet up. I am sorry for going back on the drink when your dad left, it put me into a depression. Baby I don't expect you to forgive me, I am sorry I just want you to know that."

Jake and Alison were running around the house. I didn't want my mom to know I have a kid that would be something I am not sure if I want her in Alison's life.

"Mommy Jake took my dolly."

My mom saw Alison, she froze.

"Jake please give Alison back her doll." I shouted down the hall.

"You have two kids?"

"No only one, Jake is Emily's." I said anxiously;

"Can you please give me a chance to be a better grandmother, than the mother I never was?"

Damn it she did just not go there. I was not sure if I want to let my mother back into my life, I don't know why I should even call her mom; she was not even a mom.

"Jane, I am not so sure about that, You just randomly appear on my doorstep after six years, you just expect me to take you back with open arms. You should at least let me think about it."

"Yeah you are right, I am so sorry Erin. I wish I was a better mother, bye."

I slowly closed the door. Man talk about chaos. Alison came up to me and hugged me

"Mommy who was that lady at the door?"

Damn it I never want to lie to my kids.

"That was my mom."

"Is she my granny?"

"Yes she is."

Alison just left it at that, I know she probably will come back looking for more answers about her family. Basically her family is Emily, Jake, Emily's boyfriend Darren, Josh and me.

I have exams coming up, I need to study. After Alison finished school, I took her to a café to get ice-cream. I did a bit of studying while she was eating her ice-cream. When Alison had finished her ice-cream she asked me can we get a dog.

I was about to response to that when I froze. I just seen Dan, I hadn't seen him in years and doesn't know about Alison. I just put my sunglasses on and looked down at my book. I am hoping he doesn't see me.

"Erin?" I looked up and saw Dan.

"Hi" I said anxiously

Dan looked at Alison, he had that face that he suspects something.

"Mommy Can I have another ice-cream?"

"No not now sweetie." Dan handed Alison money "go and get yourself another ice-cream."

Alison left and got herself an ice-cream, Dan sat down in the chair across from me. I know I am doomed.

"Wow you got a kid, how old is she?" Asked Dan suspiciously;

"Her name is Alison and she's 5."

"By chance is Alison my daughter? Is that why you randomly broke up with me? "

I am doomed, I can't lie to him. I think it is time Alison meets her family.

"Em Yes she is and yes"

Dan's jaws just dropped, he was shocked that he has a kid. Alison came back out with another ice-cream.

"Thank you"

Dan looked at me "Sweet kid. I better be going, we will talk later okay?"

"Bye Alison." Said Dan.
