Chapter Six: One Step Closer..I think

Miss Martian is going on camouflage mode into the office to take a look at security footage Robin explained.

Okay, I'm looking she said, But what day did you say the picture was taken?

Monday,Robin confirmed.

Wally,Robin and I were all standing near the store exit pretending to look at the candy so the guy wouldn't kick us out.My head throbbed with pain, it was either from the fall or the telepathic link.

Guys I have a headache is that normal? I interrupted.

Yes, all three of them said at the same time.

Well when will it stop? I asked, this headache was starting to get annoying now.

That's besides the point Cara, let's just focus on trying to get some answers, Robin said urging me to stay focused.

Oh, right, I said. Sorry, just got a little......side tracked.

Robin,Wally and I exited the store to wait for Megan. I gotta say, the plan was genius but I was a bit bored, I wanted to go on a mission and actually help, not wait around and do nothing.

Found it! Megan reported after a few minutes of utter silence, Downloading now."

Nice! Robin said.

Megan soon appeared in front of us, holding the flash drive with the camera footage on it, "Got it!" She smiled.

I felt a smile form on my lips, we were one step closer to finding my brother.

"Thank you Megan!" I exclaimed giving her a hug. Now, I wasn't a huggy type of person but this, this was defiantly hug worthy.

"Anytime" she laughed hugging me back.

When we got to Mount Justice we sat on the couch, got snacks and called it a movie night. We watched the tape over and over until we were so bored we couldn't take it. It did not have much to show. Monroe looked like he was on the run, he took a few things from the back room of the store and put it into the box. We couldn't see what it was. Before he left a man, I guessed he worked at the store, talked to him. Since there was no sound we could not hear what they had said. But the man looked pretty suspicious. He had the Pringles guy mustache too, I am not kidding. So that did not help with making him look less suspicious.

Robin looked closer at the screen, then paused the surveillance video, "We need to find who this guy is."

"No really? Good one Rob" Wally said sarcastically.

"So" I said munching on chips, "if we do find him, can I threaten him if he doesn't spill the beans?"

Robin looked at me,"Absolutely not Cara".

"Ugh" I rolled my eyes, "You're exactly like Batman, might aswell call you Batboy!"

Robin smirked,"thanks, it's always an honor to be compared to Batman".

I narrowed my eyes, "So how exactly are we going to find him?"

"Ah, there you are Cara!" A voice interrupted. I stood up and turned to see who was greeting me. A woman, appeared in the doorway, I almost forgot about the practice session with Black Canary.

Honestly, I wasn't looking forward to this session at all. I dragged my way to go and greet her,"Uh, hi" I waved.

We walked to the training room, I was pretty nervous and I didn't know why.
"Let's get started" Black Canary said, her voice echoing throughout the room.

She taught me some moves, but half way through the lesson I basically gave up.
"These moves are cool, but when the fire in my body starts up again, then what?" I interrupted.

I raised a brow, "Batman told you about that, right?"

She blinked,"Yes, but we need to focus on your agility first, then we will see what happens when we get your abilities handled". She explained,"But, don't you worry, we'll figure this out, I know how you feel, not being able to control your powers. It was hard for me in the beginning , but I know you'll get it".

"I sure hope so" I shrugged, wanting to avoid the upcoming pep talk, but it came anyways.

Black Canary put a hand on my shoulder, "Cara, I know that you can do this,I see it in you. Don't worry about your powers, don't worry about your brother. We will find him and you will be safe. The team will help as much as they can, and you'll find a place here"

I fake smiled and pretended to believe what she said, "Thanks for that".

"You are very welcome" she smiled, "Now, I will see you soon. Be sure to practice those moves some more!"

As soon as she left I started crying. I don't know why exactly, but I did. It was as if all the joy I had felt while spending time with my new friends had disappeared, and I was now left with the sudden loneliness I had felt once before.

I heard footsteps entering the room,"Cara? You in there?" A voice called, it was Artemis.

I wiped my face," Yeah, I'm here" I answered and met her by the door.

She lifted a brow as if she saw something wrong with my face, "are you okay?"

"Define okay" I told her and crossed my arms.

"Cara, you're not okay, I can see it. Your face is red and your eyes are puffy, you've been crying" Artemis pointed out.

"Way to point out the obvious" I sniffed.

"Hey," she put her hands on my shoulders,"things have been hard for you lately, it's okay to be sad".

I nodded.

"Alright," She said, "Let's get going"

"Where exactly are we going?" I questioned as we were walking down the hallway.

She smirked, "You'll see".

We entered a room, where a huge almond shaped space ship appeared to be.

"We are going on a trip" Artemis explained.

Wally suddenly zoomed up to us, "In our favorite rocket ship!"

Artemis glared at him.

"C'mon, I had to make that joke, it was calling on me".

The ship soon transformed into a bigger and better one, "Woah" I marveled at it.

"It's cool right?" Megan's voice said behind me.

"Okay, come on!" Artemis hurried us onto the ship.

We all strapped ourselves in and we took off. We went up so high, I had never been on a plane or even a space ship. This was amazing. The houses looked like little ants, it was all so crazy. To think that we are so small compared to everything.

Up close everything is big and bad and scary, but when you look at the whole picture it really isn't.

Recently I found my uncles old comic books but they are Marvel and I'm not much of a Marvel person, I mean I like a few of their MOVIES but I can't get into their comics, if you have any Marvel comic suggestions I'm all ears.
