Chapter Eight: Seraphina is Born

"Cara!" Someone knocked on my door.

I tiredly pulled myself out of bed almost tripping on the rug. I turned the cold door handle.
" Hey, Zatanna" I said surprised.

"So, Cara. Since it was your birthday yesterday" she started," I was wondering if you wanted to go shopping at the mall today!"

"But I don't have money" I said trying to not feel so embarrassed about my lack of welfare.

"Don't worry." she assured,"We'll cover it. Plus, you need more clothes. You can't just keep wearing the few shirts and pants you have."

"Yeah, I guess I could use some extra clothes" I agreed.

"Perfect! Be ready in a few!" She said and ran to her room.

This may sound cliche, but I was finally doing something normal for once. Not trying to put out fire erupting from my arm and leg, not investigating a liquor store, I was just going shopping. What could go wrong?

"Ta-da!" Zatanna said as we walked into the store, "welcome to my second favorite place on Earth".

We entered a store called Hot Topic honestly, it didn't fit my style but they had cool things in there like, Harry Potter, Doctor Who and yes, The Walking Dead shirts. All of which I had watched since my stay at Mount Justice. I mean I haven't finished watching all the seasons of Doctor Who and The Walking Dead, in fact I should probably go now...

Just kidding I have to finish this story. Unfortunately.

" Come on! Let me show you my favorite section!" Zatanna tugged at my arm.

She brought me over to a wall with a bunch of shirts with the symbols of Batman,Superman, The Flash and Wonder Woman.

"Wow" I said blankly, " I didn't know how much people were obsessed with these people".

"Yeah. It's kind of weird. I wonder if Young Justice will ever get any merchandise". 

I thought about that, imagine walking around and seeing people with Robin shirts or Kid Flash or even Artemis shirts! And Super Boy, his costume is basic. He has zero creativity. Like seriously, a Superman t shirt and jeans? Anyone could do that.

Suddenly I remembered something. My superhero costume! I needed one.

"So when am I ever going to get a cool crime fighting suit?" I asked Zatanna.

"Oh!" Zatanna said face palming, "Robin told me to tell you that he got Star Labs to make you a suit, fire proof and all. So don't worry about it, it'll probably be coming shortly".

"Wow" I said crossing my arms, "Robin sure is full of suprises".

"Yeah" Zatanna's voice suddenly sounded hollow and distant, "anyways, did you see anything you liked?"

"Zatanna are you okay?" I asked ignoring her question. The mention of Robin seemed to have upset her.

She looked down,"Yeah, yeah I'm fine".

"You sure?" I raised a brow.

"Of course. Now let's get going to the next store" she said and walked towards the exit.

I wonder if there was ever something between her and Robin. I shook my head and followed her out, I promised myself that I wouldn't ask, I didn't want to get involved in anything like that.
