"Welcome students! For a new year at Hogwarts, today we welcome two new students with open arms!" Dumbledore shouted, his voice was laced with excitement.

"Introducing Piper and Vincent Grace!"

Vince and I emerged from the shadows, my cold glare was a polar opposite from Vincent's usually happy exterior.

Vincent and I moved towards the podium, our strides at even pace as many looked at us in wonder.

I titled my head, glaring at those who were sizing us up, specifically from one table.

As we passed the table I bared my teeth, low rumbling growl echoed through my chest, causing them to turn away in fear.

"Greetings Piper, Vincent. Please if you will take a seat while you are sorted into your housing teams.

Vincent took a seat on a wooden stool. Just as the hat barely grazed his blonde hair the hat shouted.

"GRYFFINDOR!!"

Cheers broke out at a table to the far left. Sending me a large grin Vincent practically skipped off in the tables' direction.

I took the now vacant seat, placing my hands loosely in my lap. Soon the hat was placed on my head, speaking immediately.

"Piper Grace.. Hm.. Loyal and devoted much like Hufflepuff, though your bravery stands out much.." the hat grumbled, processing the information.

"An Animagus as well I see, very powerful I see.. You'd make a good contender as a Slytherin.. But alas, heart is with family so.."

"GRYFFINDOR!"

The same table broke out in cheers, I felt giddy inside, knowing I'd be with my brother. But I held my composure and stalked towards the table, sitting next to Vince.

"Congrats sis'!" Vince chirped in my ear as he hugged me tightly. "As to you." I murmured in reply, the hug was empty on my part, as usual.

Vince pulled away, frowning slightly. "Is that Severus Snape?"

My head snapped towards the Professors' table, where indeed, the black haired, pale man sat, eyeing Vincent and I.

My legs felt the familiar need to get up, grab Vincent and run to safety. I felt myself rising subconsciously, while grabbing Vincent's arm.

Vince tugged me down so I sat on the bench once more. I gazed up at him, confusion in my eyes.

"Relax, he's retired." he soothed, placing his hand over mine. I turned my head and glared into the cool black eyes of Severus Snape.

"You never stop being a death eater, ever."

An hour or so later I found myself in the Gryffindor common room, Vincent, talking everyone's ear off while I leaned against a far wall, watching everyone's moves intently.

"Hello there." my gaze travelled up to see two red haired twin boys staring down at me with generous smiles.

"Hi." I replied glumly.

"I'm Fred, and this is George." one greeted, he had a longer face than the other. "Cool." I muttered, turning my head to see Vince laughing hysterically.

"Is that your brother?" George presumably asked.

"My twin." I replied once again. They gasped dramatically. "Did you hear that George?" "I'm certainly sure I did Fred!" "Two whole bloody words!" the echoed.

I rolled my eyes, ignoring them, keeping my eyes focused on Vince.

"Not much of a talker, eh?" Fred chided. I simply nodded my head in response.

A heavy sigh came from both of them.

Before I could comprehend what the were doing they had me by my arms and legs, carrying me over to the couch.

"Cheer up sunshine!"

"And smile!"

I growled lowly, shifting within their grasps into my Animagus form, a grey colored wolf.

Their gasps and many others echoed through the room with silence following. I managed to slip from the grip and trot over to Vincent, shifting as I did.

"Go to bed Twin, I think it's best I escape before being man-handled again." I shot a harsh glare at the red heads before exiting through the port hole, shifting as soon as my feet were on the ground opposite of the Gryffindor rooms.

I contiously growled at myself, scolding mentally at how I lost sight of them for a single moment..

How I showed weakness..

My gaze flickered towards the full moon before I released a howl, echoing in the stone corridors.
