I stared in disbelief at my former friend. “Where were you all this time?” I whispered, longing clear in my silky voice.
“Imprisoned in Azkaban, Miss. Grace.” Her sickly sweet voice replied instead. I clenched my jaw and glared at the toad-like professor. Was it her life goal to harm and imprison the ones I love?
“What are her charges?” I barked. I felt Ginny tug at the hem of my skirt. “How do you know her?” Ginny’s voice whispered, I could sense her newfound fear. Being only 14 years old age and being pulled into an adult situation, I wished I could tell her to wait for me outside, but I wouldn’t subject her to being alone.
“Adrianna Carter is charged on relations to mass murderer Sirius Black, along with the charge of helping her aunt, Bellatrix Lestrange, and her uncle, Sirius Black escape from Azkaban.” I narrowed my eyes at the Minister.
“Do you have any proof of such action other than a witness?” I challenged. “No but-““Then you have no such right as to imprison one over false identification, and he simply cannot charge one over blood ties!” I cut the minister off, glaring up at him with a challenging face.
The jury was silent for a moment as many stared at me in disbelief. Imagine this, a young 17 year old girl stating a case and proving a legal head to be incorrect. A woman of the jury stood, and went to whisper in the Minister’s ear.
“Case overlooked. Subject adjourned. Case closed...” The Minister dismissed us, his expression still one of disbelief. Within half an hour Adrianna was released from her hold, her freedom entirely gained.
“I always said you’d be a good lawyer, Grace.” Adrianna mused, bumping her hip against mine. I smiled, watching as Ginny’s eyes furrowed in confusion. “A lawyer is a muggle title for one who fights another’s case in Court.” I explained to Ginny.
“Girls! Girls!!” My eyes travelled to the panicked looking red haired woman. I winced, remembering it was only a short meeting. Molly ran towards us, placing her hands on my cheeks to scan for any signs of injury, when she found none she moved onto Ginny.
“I was so worried- oh, who is this..?” Molly furrowed her brows much like Ginny did before. I glanced at Adrianna.
“Molly, can I ask you for a large favour?”
