A few weeks past, and now there's only 14 contestants left, inststead of the 24 we started out with. Lauren, Scotty and I remined in the top 3 for the entire competition, and we were all actually really close.Lauren was getting married in a few months. Christmas, and new years just past, and both celebrations were heald at the mansion, just like Thanksgiving was.
Aerosmith got back together, and pumped out a new album, which was released last week, and the first song on it was the one I wrote, 'Fallen Angels'.
The remaining contestants, and I all shuffled into the living room so Ryan, and the judges could tell us what our challenge for the week was.
"Contestants, I think for this week, it's more appropriate for our judges to explain what your challenge is." Ryan turned to the judges who were standing in the corner. "Rany, Jennifer, Steven?" They all stood up and walked to the center of the room, and Steven grinned at me.
"Rock n' Roll is one of the biggest influences in American music." J-Lo began "And this week, we have a very special challenge."
"As you guys know, Aerosmith and I got back together, and we came up with, and released a new album, last week." Steven kept grinning at me, which made me nervous.
"And this week..." Randy paused, for dramatic effect. As the rest of the judges chimed in
"Is Aerosmith Week!" They all sang.
"You have to choose one song the band has done through out their, now, 8 year career, and do something unique with it, while still mimicking Steven's iconic style." J-Lo said.
"Now, Steven and Joe Perry has offered their assitance to each and every one of you fine young artists through out the week. So you guys can come to him anytime you need him to work on something with you." Randy said
Everyone kind of turned and looked at me, and Steven started to chuckle.
"Oh, don't worry, Steven," I started to say out loud. "I don't need you or Joe this week." I smirked
"Oh, is that so?" He flirted
"Actually, this whole week I'm not going to speak to you or Joe." I grinned and stared at him intently
"We'll see how long that lasts." He grinned his Cheshire Cat grin, that could make anyone go weak at the knees.
"Okay, now if you guys can form a line, we have a song list for you all to choose from. Take the list and review all the songs, unless you already know what song you'd like to perform, then Just write it down on the list. None of the judges will see this list, unless you ask Steven to review your song choice, so your song choice will be a complete surprise the night of your performance." Ryan began.
Before he finished, I got up, wrote my name and song choice down on the piece of paper, and walked upstairs to my room. I could feel everyones eyes on me as I walked out of the living room, but I didn't mind, because I was about to give Steven a run for his money.
I picked up my Lucille, and began to pluck out the chords for The Grind. I had a feeling Steven already knew what I was going to sing, but I didn't care. I wasn't going to take help from him or Joe. I didn't need it, considering I taught Joe Perry the chords for this song, and I wrote the lyrics and taught Steven Tyler the melodies.
I began to warm up my voice when I heard a knock on the door.
"Come in." I said, as I started fucking around with my guitar, and playing random licks.
Steven came in, closing the door behind him. I looked up at him, and smiled faintly, then I turned my attention back to my guitar.
"Babe?" He sounded a bit upset, but I knew he was just trying to get me to look at him. I nodded my head acknowledging that he spoke to me.
