A/N: In this chapter Maya will be singing Imagination by Shawn Mendes, then you'll see why. She will sing it twice. I'm just gonna write some parts of the song cause I'm too lazy to write the whole song. That's why I left the link from a lyric video from the song up there in case you have never listened to it before  and if you did you can listen to it again, it's up to you.

It's already midnight. And I just decided to do the assignment the music teacher left us, to actually do it.

She told us to sing a song we felt identified with. We have to sing it in front of the whole class, which includes Riley.

We also have to explain orally why we chose our song. But I'm gonna write a report about it. Because I won't be able to say why I chose it if Riley is staring at me.

Yes, the song I'll be singing tomorrow is about her, well sort of. It is Imagination by Shawn Mendes.

All I'm hoping is not to break in tears in the middle of the song.

I woke up the next morning laying on the floor. I must have fell asleep doing the assignment.

I took a quick shower, grabbed some clothes and got dressed. I texted Riley that I won't go to school with her because I got up late.

It wasn't true, I just wanted to avoid her. At least until I sing the song.

I looked one last time on the mirror, you can do this I said to myself as I left to school. But not before grabbing the guitar Riley gave me a year ago.

You can do this I muttered to myself one last time before closing the door behind me.

When I got to the school everyone was already on the classroom. In the moment I entered everyone turned around to see me.

Riley smiled at me when she saw I have brought the guitar she gave me. I could feel my heart beating out of my chest.

The teacher calling me got me out of my thoughts.

"Maya like you just got here, why don't you play your song first?" She said as I nodded in response.

I sat on the chair that was in front of the whole class. They were sitting on the floor waiting for me to sing.

I had my eyes on Riley, who was sitting next to Lucas by the way. The teacher got me out of my thoughts again.

"So, what song are you going to sing for us?" She asked me.

"Imagination by Shawn Mendes" I said.

"Great, why did you pick that song?" She said.

"I...uh...I wrote a report about it...I don't feel comfortable...talking about it" I said stuttering. I could feel Riley looking at me concerned.

"Ok then, you can start singing" She said as I gave her my report.

I took a deep breath as I started singing.

Oh, there she goes again, every morning it's the same. You walk on by my house I wanna call out your name .

I want to tell you how beautiful you are from where I'm standing. 

I kept singing trying not to look at Riley but I failed. I looked at her, I couldn't stop. 

She was next to Lucas, she had her head on his shoulder. Tears started coming down my face as I kept singing.
