"Is that a world tour or ya girl's tour?"
"Drake!" I can't help but laugh as Amber shakes her dark puffy hair while saying his name. This was the easiest lyric I gave her, since we were listening to Back To Back at the moment I said it.
We were playing a game we always played, giving lyrics without singing them and having the other person guess the artist.
Amber was not doing so well.
"Wanna argue all day, making love all night."
"Justin!" I yell, drawing out his name.
"Also known as my sugar daddy, but Justin is okay too."
"Okay, first off, no." I tell her, and she rolls her eyes, waving me off.
"What, I'm not allowed to have a little romance while you're with mystery man?"
I had to tell Amber about Shawn. I just didn't use his name, or tell her that he was kind of a famous singer. Nothing big though, right?
The story was the same, minus his identity, and hiding from Nora. I just told her I never got his name, and never bothered asking.
"We're not even going to talk again, chill." I wasn't exaggerating.
Shawn and I hadn't spoken in a week, not even a text. Of course he was on social media, and working on his career. Shawn was hanging out in New York to meet fans, do interviews, and other things. I honestly didn't even expect him to go to the park that day, which is why I got the video and follows for Nora the day we met.
"You sure? This text says otherwise." Amber tells me, and I raise my eyebrows, pulling my phone from her hands and groaning when I see the blank screen.
"Hilarious." I say, and wave off her laughter.
"You were so excited, and then, oh boy, sweet Lord, man." She says, trying to stop her laughing and steady her breathing, but failing miserably.
"Whatever." I tell her, and get up to change from sweats to something actually decent. I was going to go to Starbucks with Amber, and sometimes I actually care how I look in public.
"Hot Guy From Tim Hortons said 'hey, want to hang out?' I'm going to say yes!" Amber says, still holding my phone.
"Sure, do it!" I give her a thumbs up, knowing that he didn't actually text me.
"How bout I invite him to Starbucks with us, and he can sit next to me?" She says, and I can't help but feel a slight bit of panic before remembering he didn't actually text me.
"Stop trying to steal my man." I joke, and she nods, a smile on her face.
"You're right. The movies tonight. Poltergeist. Deal?"
"Absolutely! I love scary movies!" I say sarcastically, and Amber begins typing, a grin on her face.
"Eight pm honey. Should he pick you up?" My best friend asks, and I nod.
"Why not?" I say, then walking to the bathroom to change clothes quickly, returning to a very eager Amber.
"Done. And don't thank me yet, thank me at your wedding." She tells me, and I laugh at her playfulness. One day I wanted to be known for acting, but the way Amber is going it looks like she'll beat me to it.
"Ready?" I ask, and she nods, grabs her purse, and runs out, her keys making a jangling sound as she sprinted to her car.
I start to follow her and as I'm about to leave I hear a buzzing sound, reminding me that I almost forgot my phone at home.
I reach over and grab it, checking I see what the notification was.
Hot Guy From Tim Hortons:
See you then :)Amber better start her prayers soon.

"We're here!" I'm interrupted by the girl as she parks in front of Starbucks, then exiting the car so she can leave the atmosphere of me yelling at her for a solid ten minutes. As we enter the store in silence, I look around. I know it was kind of wrong to go to Starbucks when your parents owned a Tim Hortons, but I can't help it.
Starbucks changed me as a person.
I order a caramel frapuccino, that although a lot of people can't stand the drink, I adore it. Amber orders a tea and we both sit down at a table. I open my mouth to continue the shunning, but stop when I realize there was no point.
I was going to see a scary movie with Shawn Mendes.
So instead of saying everything she did was wrong, I start a conversation with her about the Starbucks secret menu. Of course that travels to Ariana Grande and magically (surprise) to Justin Bieber.
"Shawn Mendes is a pretty good Canadian singer too. I wouldn't mind a piece of him at all." She says, and I raise an eyebrow.
"He could cut me with his jawline and I'd say thank you." I joke back, knowing that if I stayed quiet, Amber would question me.
"Now don't go falling for Shawn. He belongs to Nora. You have your mystery man. Tonight at eight."
"Yeah," I said, slightly lost in my own thoughts, "I guess I do."
The whole date thing would be hard to explain to my parents, including the magical mystery boy who may or may not be Shawn Mendes.
So I didn't tell them.
Instead I said I would be at the movies- but with Amber. And they believed me. So as I'm waiting in my leggings and Forever 21 hoodie, I can't help but feel a little bad for lying to them. I'm not sure why. I'm a teenager, I'm supposed to lie to my parents and get in trouble.
This didn't help settle the angry mob going on inside my stomach. At all. Instead the fact my parents might have caught me was even more terrifying. Not to mention anyone I knew, Shawn's fans, and worst of all, the paparazzi.
Before I can cancel or rethink my decision once more, the doorbell rings, causing the angry mob in my stomach to turn into a very nervous mob of butterflies.
