"Get in loser, we're going shopping."
"I really don't want to Amber, I'm just not feeling it today." I object, but I know it's no use. Once Amber has her mind on something, nothing will stop her from getting it.
"Did I ask if you wanted to? Go put on some pants and grab your purse. I'll be waiting here." Amber demands, and I groan before throwing out the trash and walking back inside, then going upstairs. As I walk towards my room I notice Nora's phone is on and she wasn't near it, which is pretty strange for Nora.
Being the snoop I am, I walk over to check what she was looking at, only to have my heart drop to my stomach. In front of my face was a photo from when Shawn and I were in Tim Horton's that night with my hands all over him. Thankfully, my back is facing the camera, and the cafe is dark, so no one could possibly tell it was me.
Except me.
"I'm mad about it too. How dare that girl get her hands on my Shawn?" I turn to face Nora and put on a fake grin, then shrug.
"Where's this picture from?" I ask, pretending to be only slightly curious.
"I found it all over my feed. I wish I could see the girl's face but it's too dark. For all I know it could be you." Nora tells me, and I shrug once more, wanting to exit the room instantly.
"Maybe it is me. I'm going with Amber to go shopping, okay? I'll be back in an hour or two." I say, and the moment Nora replies I rush out of the room, quickly change my clothes, grab my purse, and go outside to find Amber still waiting for me in her car.
"So," My best friend starts when I sit down and shut the door. "What's wrong? What's got you sad?"
"Nothing's wrong, I'm fine." I tell her, pretending to be too busy with my phone.
"Tell me, Olivia. Or I'll drive you to the nearest forest and leave you there."
"How do you know if someone is using you?" I ask, and Amber looks at me strangely before answering.
"You see if they truly like you for who you are. If they try to make an effort to hang out, and actually talk to you about other things and the conversation seems real, not forced. If they care about how you feel too."
I guess Shawn and I did have real conversations. And he must care about me in some way.
"So, if you kind of stormed away from him and have been ignoring all his texts and calls, what exactly do you do then?" I ask her.
"Then you plan to meet somewhere, and you talk out everything."
"You should become an advice giver."
"And you should become an actress." Amber replies, and then parks infront of the mall.
"Now, enough sad talk. We're going to go to the mall, eat everything, buy everything, and leave. Let's go." Amber orders, and I nod my head as we both get out of the car and walk to the main entrance.
"Where to first?" I ask, and Amber looks at me like I should know the answer.
"Food court?" She says, awaiting my approval.
"Food court." I agree, and off we go.
______
"I need to check in with my parents, turn right." I tell Amber, and she nods before turning, and parking in front of Tim Hortons.
I walk in and say hello to the two workers that are serving, and pass by the long line of customers to the back of the store, seeing my mom making a sandwich and my dad capping the lid on coffee.
"Hey, I'm going to be at Amber's house, okay?"
"That's fine, but ask her if she can drop you off at your acting classes. And try to do some homework while your there, instead of gossiping." Mom replies, and I nod my head.
"I won't get it all done, but tomorrow's Sunday, so I can finish it then." I tell her, and before I can say goodbye, my dad starts to speak.
"There was a boy here looking for you. He had a black sweater, and was tall. I'm not exactly sure why, but he was asking for you, and we told him you weren't here. You know him?"
"Maybe, I'm not sure." I reply, then say goodbye to both parents before leaving the busy café and going into Amber's car, then shutting the door after me.
"My mom needs you to drop me off at acting classes, around four, and then I'm stuck in there until seven." I tell Amber, and she nods her head, then driving out of the parking lot at towards her house.
"Okay, this may seem strange to ask, but what do you want to be when you grow up?" Amber asks, and I can't help but shrug, surprised that she asked me that. I would have said acting, since everyone said I was good at it, but I found acting as a hobby, and didn't really think of it as a career for myself.
"I don't really know, why?"
"We'll have you ever thought about being a singer? You and me both know you can sing, which is why you're the main role in every musical at school. You write songs too, which is even better."
"Yeah, I guess being a singer would be cool, but it's never going to happen. Why are you asking me this, Amber? Seriously, where is this supposed to be leading to?" I ask, and she looks at the window before answering.
"Remember my cousin, Cole? He got a job at this really big record label company or whatever, and needs his first guy or girl to start a career with. But if it flops, then he's fired, and the label is so well known, it's almost impossible to flop. I can drive you over to meet him right now, if you want. He'll fall over when he hears your voice and give you the label instantly. That is, if you want. You don't have to."
I'm silent for a long time before finally opening my mouth and speaking.
"You know what? Let's go have a meeting with Cole, why don't we?" I say, and Amber cheers before changing her turn signal.
But first, I had to send a text to someone and tell him that we needed to meet up and talk.
I'm sorry I haven't updated in forever !!!
