"Hey."
"Hey, welcome to Tim Hortons, how may I help you?"
"We need to talk." The words leave Shawn's mouth and I pause before nodding my head.
"Yeah, we do."
I motion for him to sit across from me at the counter, and he does. It's silent for a while until I finally open my mouth and speak.
"So, are we going to be completely truthful right now?"
"Yeah, we might as well just let everything out."
"Great. So first I just have to ask. Am I really a publicity stunt? Because it kind of sucks, Shawn, going up to your room and hearing that guy talk and talk about how I'm just media bait." I say, and Shawn shakes his head.
"He wanted me to use you, and I can't do that. I hate using people in general, especially if it ends up being you. We can hang out in private, until I go. From now on, just me and you."
"No cameras?" I ask suspiciously, and he shakes his head.
"No cameras."
"Great. Now I just have to ask this. How did you get to the roof yesterday?"
"I know I was supposed to go to the back and up the ladder, but the door was unlocked. And it might have been a little scary in there, but I went upstairs and to the roof." Shawn tells me, and I nod my head. He was telling the truth.
"Well, that's all I have to ask for now."
"Can I ask a question now? If you don't mind."
"Sure." I reply, waiting for him to ask.
"Can we pretend all the confusing stuff and hotel event never happened, and we can go back to where I was flirting with you and dying to kiss you?"
"You know, that doesn't sound like such a bad idea. Now come on, you're joining me on my ritual. It's filled with eating popcorn and watching soap operas."
"Isn't it Disney throwback week though?" Shawn asks, and my mouth opens wide. I grab the tv remote and change the channel quickly, spotting Alex Russo instantly.
"Wizards of Waverly Place! I love this show so much, thanks Shawn!"
"I'm here to serve." He replies, and I smile before paying attention to the show. As I'm watching I remember to do something kind of important, and get up.
I then rush over to the back, pull out the keys, and go the the front door, locking it. I pull down the cover for the window in the door, so no one could look inside.
When I sit back down I notice Shawn watching, and I shrug.
"Where's the light switch?" Shawn asks, and I point to the wall.
"It's those three switches for these three lights, and the rest are in the back." I say, and before I can ask why Shawn goes over and shuts the lights, making it dark. However the tv screen still gave light, so I could see everything pretty decently.
"Can I ask why you did that?" I question, and Shawn shrugs.
"It's cooler this way. And it has a real movie theater vibe now." He replies, sitting close to me. We were currently sitting on the floor, our backs against the counter as the Wizards of Waverly Place continued to play on the tv.
We watch in silence, and as I reach for some popcorn, Shawn does the same. Our hands bump and what else could he possibly do but connect our hands together?
"How cliché." I say, but keep his hand in mine.
"You know you enjoyed that."
"Not as much as you probably did."
We make eye contact and I can't help but stare at him, admiring his features. I notice he has a slight lazy eye, which is actually extremely cute. His eyes were a calming brown, and I could probably stare at them all day long. Not to mention that in general, his face was very pleasing to look at.
I let go of his hand and reach for his face, setting my palm right at his jawline.
"You know Shawn, you're actually very cute." I finally say, and Shawn gives me a smirk.
"Thanks, you're even cuter though. I mean everything about you is absolutely stunning, from your looks to your personality."
"Hey, Shawn?"
"Yeah?" He replies, waiting for me to continue.
"I really, really want to kiss you right now." I say, and Shawn pauses for a moment before grinning.
"So what's stopping you?"
"Well, I know that you'll be leaving New York and off to wherever, and I'll probably never see you again."
"And how do you know that you'll never see me again?"
"Are you kidding me, Shawn? That's how it always works." I tell him, and his expression softens as he pulls me in closer, and drops his voice to a whisper.
"Olivia, nothing in the world could ever stop me from seeing you again."
And then, like that, I lean closer to him until our lips are touching. I had wanted this for so long, and even though everything that had to do with him was so confusing, I wanted to stay in this moment forever.
I never found out what happened in that episode of Wizards of Waverly Place. I had no idea if Alex and Justin ever got rid of that robot. In fact, I don't even know what shows played for the rest of the time that Shawn and I were together, making out. But one thing I knew for sure is that Shawn had really good breath, and even better kissing skills.
