Marissa nervously paced back and forth in her living room waiting for the phone call from her brother. She was beside herself and worried about Cassie. If she had only listened to her when she had warned her about James.
'What the hell is taking him so long to call me back?' She thought to herself.
She went into the kitchen and poured some patron in a shot glass and chugged it back. Who knew life would be so crazy!.
(Got me looking so crazy right now, your love's
Got me looking so crazy right now (in love)
Got me looking so crazy right now, your touch
Got me looking so crazy right now (your touch)
Got me hoping you'll page me right now, your kiss
Got me hoping you'll save me right now
Looking so crazy in love's,
Got me looking, got me looking so crazy in love..)She dropped everything and ran towards my phone almost dropping it as she nervously answered.
"Hello...".
"Marissa we found them... I alerted Canadian officials and they sent their personnels to the hotel".
"Oh thank god!. Hopefully no one gets hurt in the process". She felt a tear fall from her eye. Cassie owes her big time.
"Well I'll keep you posted as I get anymore news about this. Just pray that he doesn't do anything crazy".
"I think it's too late for that. I just hope he doesn't end up killing her" she said.
"Just try and not think too much about this. I'll call you once the officials tell me what's he next move".
"Okay and thank you again". I needed another shot the suspense was killing me.
Meanwhile...
I gasped for air as I came to. Everything felt like a dream. Looking around I saw everything was turned over and broken. What the hell happened?. I didn't see James at all.
My throat was very dry. I couldn't even talk. Getting up I slowly walked to get s drink of water. The feeling of the cold from the water was like heaven. I inhaled deeply and exhaled. Looking in the mirror I saw the prints on my neck. Tears filled my eyes as I traced the marks on my neck.
"I'm sorry for what happened". I jumped back and didn't say anything. "I don't want you to afraid of me, Cassie".
"Don't touch me". The only three words I could get out.
"Come on don't be like this. Plus, it was your fault why I choked you. If you would've just kept that smart mouth closed we could've had a nice dinner" he pointed out.
"You could've killed us. You maniac!". I didn't move I stood still.
"I have some good news for you. We are moving to another location" as he started packing.
"W-why?. It's fine here". Shit!. If we move that text would be a huge waste.
"I'm bored of this hotel. The new location is a rented house. And plus you can't raise a baby here".
"I'm not raising this child with you... So it'll be pointless to go anywhere". I crossed my arms over my chest.
"Cassie, listen I know you're in denial of what's going on here but the quicker you accept it the better it'll be".
"I don't want to move. And my feet are so swollen lately. I don't want to make it worse by moving around".
He looked down at my feet and shrugged.
"Fine, I'll give it one more week and then we move". He moved the duffel bag back into the closet.
Thank god!. Hopefully they'll find us before then.
I sat by the window and watched James. He seemed so tense. I wonder what he was thinking about so much. Didn't he plan this heist perfectly?. He turned to me and smirked. I quickly looked away he was definitely plotting something.
"Cassie come here". I slowly for up and waddled to him.
"Hmm?". Didn't feel the need to strike up a conversation with him.
"I changed my mind... I'll give your feet two days and then we are out of here. If I see you not elevating your feet we will leave immediately" he stared at me intently as he said each word.
You know that moment when you feel like everything is happening in slow motion... That was happening.
I nodded and sat on the bed. Feeling hopeless that no one was even looking for me.
Downstairs...
"Excuse me miss..." As the officer asked.
"Yes?. How can I help you?". She smiled big.
"I need to know of these two checked in this hotel in the past two weeks?". He held up a picture of James and Cassie.
She took the photos and looked at closely. The picture of Cassie was striking a memory. "Yes this woman is here with a gentleman. Rude might I say".
"Good what floor are they on and room number?".
"Sir I can't give that information out. Is there some kind of trouble?".
"Yes that woman could be in danger and she's pregnant so if you don't tell me floor and room number I'll charge you to being a accessory to a crime".
"Y-Yes sir one moment" she typed away on the computer trying to find out what he wanted. About five minutes later she wrote down on a post it and slid it to him.
"Thank you miss. Let's go boys!". She watches as about 10 officers marched behind the head officer.
Once on the 10th floor they planned out what was going to happen. They lined up against the hallway. The head officer listened at the door. He motioned one of his colleagues to get ready.
(1... 2... 3)
He kicked opened the door yelling "PUT YOUR HANDS UP NOW!".
