(Genesis' POV)
"Gen! Lets go!" My dad called up the stairs.
I grabbed my bag and bounded down the stairs. He held the door open and I climbed into his old pickup truck. We drove in silence down the empty side road. He stopped and pulled over. I grabbed my bag and jumped out. Just as I was closing the door he grabbed my hand.
"Just don't get killed alright?"
That was all I got from him. As much love as he could express. I nodded and closed the door. He drove off and I ran into the woods. I passed the big tree which marked the edge of camp and everything appeared into view. The Big House, shooting range, cabins. My second home. I shifted my bag on my shoulder and walked towards Cabin 8. The Hunters of Artemis cabin.
I am Artemis' only daughter. Adopted of course. She found me alone in the woods when I was young. She took me under her wing and gave me the same powers as her. I am very talented with a bow, know my way around the woods as if it were my home (it technically is), and I can call animals to my aid. All the other hunters think very highly of me just because of my past. I opened the screen door of Cabin 8 and I saw ten girls.
"Lady Genesis." And "Lady Artemis' daughter." They muttered and semi-curtsied.
"Rise." I said tiredly. This had happened many times before.
"You don't have to bow to me. I am a girl just like you. Treat me as a friend." I established.
They looked confused but seemingly agreed. I walked to the back and opened the curtain to my bed. The girls must've done this. It looked like a deluxe hotel room. I sighed. I didn't like being treated as if I were a princess. My thoughts were suddenly interrupted by gasps from behind the curtain. I ignored it and started unpacking.
Hands rested in my waist and my eyes widened. I spun and saw Luke smiling widely. I practically jumped on him as I pulled him into a huge hug. He chuckled in my ear softly. I hadn't seen him since last summer.
Luke was my boyfriend of two years. I had met him at camp and my friends got us together. Alleya Hearts, daughter of Athena, and Willow Hunt, daughter of Poseidon, are my best friends. They both go to this camp also. Since Willow is a daughter of one of the big three she gets a cabin all to herself.
"I missed you." Luke muttered into my neck. I pulled back and kissed his forehead.
"Let's go." I said slipping my hand into his.
We left Cabin 8 with much to gossip about. The daughter of Artemis is attracted to someone. I know. I'm not supposed to be but I don't have to be exactly like my mother. We were walking across the field when a boy came running into view from on top of the hill.
"Wait." I told Luke. He stopped and looked at him also.
"New kid." He said.
The boy had black hair and blue eyes that I could see from where I was standing.
"Let's go." I said pulling him towards the shooting range.
I pulled the hair tie and bobby pin from my hair which morphed into my bow and quiver. Luke went and grabbed a bow for himself from the shed.
"Ten bulls eyes for one kiss?" Luke asked. I laughed and agreed. I shot all ten in the time Luke had shot two. I sat up on the wood supports and saw as Luke shot ten bulls eyes.
"You've gotten good." I said as he strolled up to me, a triumphant look on his face.
He laid his hands on my legs and I grabbed his neck. I pulled him in towards me and smiled under our kiss. It seemed to last forever until someone cleared their throat.
I pulled away reluctantly and looked to see Willow and Alleya smiling. I jumped down and ran to them. Giving them both a huge hug.
"Hey you were getting it on back there." Alleya joked. I blushed and looked back to Luke who was now scratching his head embarrassingly.
"Yeah..."
