"I'm a fairy!" I say in a hushed girly voice, walking past Troye's tent.
"Goodnight Troye, I'm a fairy!" I run to my own tent, so I wouldn't get told off by the strict teachers. Who the heck goes to sleep at 9:30?
"Okay, guys, we're going to sleep for like an hour, once the coast is clear, we're going out to the archery fields, by the bathrooms," Caspar instructs, keeping his voice low and quiet. Joe and I nod, then shuffle into my sleeping bag.
"And yes, Connor, before you ask, we are getting Troye, Tyler, Zoe and Amanda," Caspar rolls his eyes. I couldn't see anythig, but I can just tell. I fall asleep to the sound of the others' breathing patterns.
"Rise and shine, motherfucker," Joe whispers in my ear. I flutter my eyes open and see that the sun had risen just enough for me to see things around me almost clearly. I glance at my watch; 2:50am. I get out of my sleeping bag and slide my cold feet into my damp flip flops.
"Ready?" Caspar asks, grabbing the zip. We nod, and he zips our tent open. We walk out, the cold wet grass wetting our feet immediately, making dead pieces of grass go everywhere.
I shake Troye's tent, so they would wake up. Joe goes to Zoe's tent.
"You guys ready?" I ask, as Tyler gets out of their dew soaked tent.
"Yup!" Troye says excitedly. He's so adorable, aw. We walk over to the archery field, right by the road. As we sat on a dry tree stump, we see someone walking in our direction. Panicking, we run to the roadside, hiding behind a bunch of trees.
"Oh my gosh!" Zoe clutches her heart in relief.
"Oh you fuckers, that's just Amy!" Amanda sighs at our stupidity. We all giggle.
"Hey, you guys, do you wanna go down to the beach?" Tyler suggests.
"Will we get caught?" I ask anxiously.
"If we do, I'll just say I forced y'all. Put all the blame on me. Get me sent home early. I don't really care anyway, we're leaving tomorrow afternoon," Tyler shrugs. I agree reluctantly, my teeth clattering from the cold. Troye grasps my hand.
We all walk down to the beach, all of us aching for a swim.
"WOOO!" Tyler shrieks, taking off his shirt and pants and running into the water.
"GUYS IT'S WARM!"
Biting my lip insecurely, I take off my shirt. Troye's eyes are on me. Feeling more confident, I take off my pants and run down. Warm water hits me as I dive in.
Everyone else runs in and we all just muck around. Until...
"Hey! Aren't you all part of that school camp? Get back to your tents!" Someone yells from afar. I think he's a lifeguard. We all yelp and grab our clothes before running back to the tent area.
"That was epic!" Caspar exclaims, jumping up and down.
"Calm your man boobs, you're acting like a girl," Joe sneers. Caspar glares and shoves him. He falls right into a teachers' tent.
"GUYS HIDE!" Troye gasps. Since we are on the girls' side, we all get into Zoe and Amanda's 5 person tent. We hear someone unzip their tent and walk out.
"What the hell was that?" We hear a teacher mumble to themselves. We try muffle our giggles as they get back into their tent and go back to sleep. After several minutes in silence, we all get out, apart from Zoe and Amanda.
"Goodnight!" Troye smiles to them, as we begin to walk off. We wave to them, and head back into the boys' area.
"That was fun," I say, standing rather close to Troye.
"Yeah, it was," Troye replies.
"Troye, it's been 7 months. And I miss you so much," I confess. He leans in and plants a gentle kiss on my lips. Our faces rather close, he whispers, "I'm sorry, Connor. I don't feel the same way anymore. Can we just be friends?" My heart shatters.
"Oh. I just thought... nevermind," I stutter, tears stinging the back of my eyes. He hugs me. My tears fall onto his black crewneck.
I never want to fall in love again.THIS IS SO SAD I LOVE IT. THE FIRST HALF IS BASED ON A TRUE STORY, ME AND MY FRIENDS WERE PLANNING TO GO TO THE BEACH BUT WE DIDN'T WANT TO GET CAUGHT.
