We recorded a few hours of The Division, it's a fairly decent game. We played it well, there is a slight teamwork aspect to to so we were good in that area. We worked well as a team as a four.
'Right can we go now?' Smith asked as soon as we stopped recording, 'Ok calm down.' I said taking my headphones off. 'Are you guys coming?' I asked Ross and Trott, 'well Kim and I are going out tonight with some of her friends.' Ross said, 'I might just hang around with Katie at home.' Trott said, neither seemed to keen on the idea of looking at lizards. 'Ok well we will see you at home. Come on Abbey.' He said holding the door open. 'I am coming.' I said still putting my coat on and picking up my bag.
'Where are you off to in a hurry?' Lewis asked coming down the stairs stopping us in our tracks. 'Alex want's a gecko.' I told him, Lewis chuckled and walked past us. 'What was that about?' I asked looking at Smith who looked like a child being let loose in a sweet shop. 'Huh?' He asked me and I shook my head, 'nothing dear.' I said and we went home to pick up the car before driving to the pet shop.
When we pulled up outside it was getting dark. 'Ok we might not get one today.' I told him getting out of the car knowing full well we were going to walk out of this shop with a lizard. We walked in hand in hand and we walked straight to the reptile section of the shop. I was looking at prices of the tanks and all the stuff we needed as SMith looked in the glass windows boxes that the lizards were in. 'Look as this one, it's bright blue with yellow spots.' He said pointing at one sat on a log at the back of the tank. 'Or this one, it looks like it has leopard print.' He said, 'i like this one.' He said pointing at the leopard gecko. 'Ok, let's look at the tanks and stuff first before making any decisions.' I told him trying to bring him back down.
We wandered around looking at all the stuff, dog toys, cat toys, fish etc. We walked past the adoption section where there were little animals who needed new homes. 'Awww, Alex look.' I said pointing it out. 'I don't think they have any geckos in there Abbey.' He said and I looked at him and linked arms and we walked over. It was like a sectioned off part of the shop, there was an arch we had to walk through and there was a large back wall with cages with small animals in and then runs there were mostly rabbits and guinea pigs in the little runs. 'Yeah see no geckos.' He said, 'let's just have a look.' I told him and we walked around.
We walked up to the back wall and in one of the little cages was a grey ball of fur. 'What is it?'Smith asked and I read the description.
This is Chico, He is timid and shy but he loves to cuddle and snuggle. He was forgotten about by his previous owner and now just seeks a good home. He may not take to you at first but after he comes out of his shell he is one of the most loving companions you could ask for. For further information please ask our staff.
'Alex he is beautiful.' I told him, 'yeah he is pretty cute.' Smith turned around and called over a staff member. 'Can you tell us some more about him?' Smith asked the lady who worked here, 'yeah just wait here and I will get you his paper work.' She said before disappearing into a Staff only room. 'We can't get him.' I told Smith, 'I know, we came to get a lizard but I am curious.' Smith said. The lady came back with a A4 plastic wallet and handed it to Smith. He flicked through it, 'he is a bit like you.' Smith said and I looked at him, 'what do you mean?' I asked him looking at the paper. 'Well he was left by one owner to another and the second owner had no time to look after him and one day just left him. Like your story.' He said and I looked at Smith. 'That's a little creepy.' I said with a shiver running the length of my back. 'Yeah it is a bit.' Smith folded the paper and we walked back to the lizards leaving Chico behind.
What did I tell you? As Smith and one of the store workers loaded the lizard tank into the back of the car I held the box that the leopard gecko was in along with a pot of jumping locusts. 'There we go.' Smith said piling the last of the stuff into the back, we thanked the guy and we loaded up ourselves.
We got home and it was no surprise to anyone that we came home with a gecko. 'Where we going to keep him? It is a him right? How do you tell?' I asked as we walked in the house. 'I don't know we will look later.' Smith went to find Trott to help him bring in the tank. Trott and Katie followed Smith out of the living room and Trott and Smith went outside. 'I knew he would get one.' Katie said looking at he sleeping gecko in the box I had a hold on. 'Oh Katie you should have seen this chinchilla, he was beautiful.' I told her all about Chico and his back story. 'Yeah that's a bit creepy.' She agreed as we watched Smith and Trott struggle to get the tank into the living room. 'Where are you putting it?' Katie asked as we followed behind them. 'In there.' Trott said nodding to the sitting room.
The tank was placed against the wall of the sitting room and Smith took the tiny lizard from me and let him go into possibly the most swish looking tank in the world. He had a heated rock, a pool, half a tree and I managed to convince Smith to get a Fallout Pip boy to put in there. It was meant for a fish tank but it worked just as well. 'There we go little fella. Welcome to your new home.' Smith cooed as he placed him in. 'What's his name?' Trott asked stretching from lifting the tank. 'I don't know.' Smith said, 'Well he is leopard print, call him leo.' Katie suggested, 'Nah, needs to be something a bit different.' Smith said. 'Call him Kappa.' Trott suggested, 'Kappa?' I looked at Trott, 'yeah he needs to be named after a meme.' Trott said, 'I like Kappa.' Katie chuffed. 'What about you Abbey? Kappa?' Smith asked and I snapped out of my slight daydream. 'Err yeah, sounds good. Kappa. Yeah I like it.' I told him folding my arms. 'From this day forward little gecko you shall be named Kappa.' Smith said. 'Right what we eating for dinner?' Trott asked, 'well there are some lovely locusts in the kitchen.' Smith joked.
