3 years since the incident, 18 years old maya have been living life in pain, nightmares, and pure heartbreak, 3 years since she watched all the people she loved got taken away from her, especially the one guy she loved her whole life, lucas friar, she decided to moved away from the nightmares and in new York city there she met a girl name riley Matthews who changed her life, who helped her moved past the pain.

all she had now was memories, happy, sad, every heartbreaks, every tears, every smile, and joy she once felt.

and she promised herself to never fall that deep anymore for a guy

finding out the one man she loved was alive all these years but never reached out to her was like a knife through her heart.

but finding out he was now her best friend adopted brother is like someone ripped her heart out, because she knows she couldn't be with him again.

not because he didn't reach out to her all those years, not because he left her drowning in her own pain and sorrow, not because she will never love him the same again, because that would be denying her love for him, but because he was now her best friend brother, and betraying riley Matthews is something she promised herself to never do.
