Don't forget to comment, vote and follow if you like it! Also sorry about the end I wasn't really sure how to end something like that so I didn't.

Maritza POV

I was surprised when I found out that Eric was emotional when he was drunk and it was the funniest thing on the planet. I don't know what I expected when I saw him sober the next day but it wasn't complete ignorance, I felt like we had a connection or something. For that whole week I pushed away those weird feeling and thought about what he said about me being friends with Will,  he was right I was just going to poison him. So instead of hanging out with him I'd spend my time training and secretly hoping I'd get a chance to speak to Eric. Unfortunately it didn't happen, although I did climb to the top of the score board just one below Peter. This year's chasm body was Al turns out something strange happened between him and Tris. I noticed the looks she had been giving Four and the weirdest part is, that he was returning them. There is definitely something going on there. Butter knives got banned in the sleeping area because Peter had taken it upon himself to stab Edward in the eye making him factionless and with only one working eye. Eventually Will decided I needed and intervention.
"Hey Ritz, we need to talk." Will interrupted my beating the shit out of the punching bag mode.

"I'm really sorry Will but I need to practice. I won't be factionless." I stated quickly before returning to the punching bag. Will stepped in front of the bag and I stopped just before hitting him.
"What the hell?" I shouted at him.
"I could have hit you... Fine I'm listening." I start to unwind my hand wraps.
"Why aren't you hanging out with me. I mean you've barely even talked to me since you came back from training with Eric. Did he do something to you?" He asks, and I'm shocked I didn't realise he actually cared.

"No he didn't." I shook me head.
"Did he say something?"
"No."
"Did he-"
"He didn't do anything." I say interrupting him and bringing my voice back down. I sigh he won't leave me alone unless I give him something.
"I'm not a good person, Will and I don't want you caught up in my messes." I say looking down, completely oblivious to the other person in the room.
"You shouldn't listen to what Christina says. She's just jealous of you." He says and I decide to play along.
"Sometimes I think she's right. She was a Candor, a real Candor." The little emotion I was showing there was actually legit.
"But she's not a Candor anymore." He states simply. He had a point.
"I'm so sorry Will. I promise I'll talk more and we'll definitely hang out more after initiation." I put my pinky out.
"I swear on Erudite's books." We link pinkies and leave the room to grab some Dauntless cake for Dinner. After some serious catching up I actually felt a lot better. My mood had significantly improved.

Eventually we made out way to the score board to see who would be cut for the end of the stage and I have to admit I was kinda nervous, no one should have to become factionless that's just inhumane. I will admit that it did have a certain element of motivation. I held my breath as I grabbed Will's hand and we waited for the score board to display the rankings. I breathed out in relief and was pleasantly surprised to find my name number one, Peter wasn't gonna be happy with that, I turned to seem him scowling at me. I quickly searched the board and found Will's name above the red line. He pulled me into a powerful hug unthinkingly.
"Oh god, I'm sorry, I wasn't thinking." He let go abruptly.

"It's all good, we made it to the next stage."

"We're going to party tonight. Throw a little celebration thing in the Dauntless-born sleeping area. They managed to get alcohol and we got the cake. Come one, we should head there with the rest of them." He started to wards the sea of initiates.
"I'll catch up, I just need to sort something out." I lie letting go of his hand and walking in the opposite direction not waiting for an answer. Not only did I not want to go to the party but I wanted to go to the chasm and clear my head. I had to expel all thoughts of Eric.

My walk was silently most people were celebrating the others were factionless. As I fell into a rhythm, I heard footsteps behind me. I turned but there wasn't anyone there. Brushing it off I continued until a hand covered my mouth and an arm pinned me to the wall so I couldn't see their faces. Another set of hands picked up my feet and I was being carried. I twisted around and out of their grip to see it was Peter and Molly.
"What the fu-" Peter slaps his hand over my mouth again.

"Just get her in the chasm already, they're gonna wonder where we were." He says and lifts me up so I'm standing. I bit his hand.

"Bitch." he lets go. I wriggle in his grip.
"I did not work my ass off this week to be throw in the chasm, so dickwad, if you don't want to get hurt I suggest you let me go now. You too girl Peter." I stop moving so they can decide.
"Ha, like we've got anything to be worried about. It's two on one." Molly laughs.
"Okay." I say I elbow Peter in the stomach, then stomp on his foot I punch him in the face and Molly comes at me I fight Molly while Peter is stunned. I'm about to knock Molly out with one last punch when Peter jumps on my back I grunt rolling to the side. I attempt to stand but get pushed back down they start kicking me and I curl up waiting for my opportunity, the opportunity never came. The kicks had stopped and I uncurled to see why. Eric was standing there catching his breath with two bodies at his feet, whether they were dead or unconscious I couldn't tell. He put a hand out offering me help but I ignored it and stood up myself.
"I had that under control, they were right where I wanted them to be." I say crossing my arms.
"Yeah, it sure looked like it. What do you call that technique? The curl-curl-up-and-die-so-you-can-haunt-them?" He asked sarcastically.
"Actually, It's called waiting for the perfect opportunity." I retort.
"How did you find me?" I ask, curious as to how he had found me.

"I was coming to speak with you." He says checking Peter's pulse.
"What about?" I ask again walking up to him.

"Nothing important." He says face contorted.

"Uh, clearly it is, you haven't spoken to me all week. What were you going to say?" I ask now getting more and more frustrated he couldn't to that to me.

"They're dead." He gestures towards Peter and Molly.
